p0lar_bear
I've heard and read numerous times that Luther referred to grace as "snow on a dungheap." Can anyone give me a citation for this quote?
Guest Eremite
I believe it is an apocryphal legend.
Paphnutius
Yeah i have been looking everywhere for the actual documentation. I cannot find it. Like Eremite said it may just be a legen that was drawn from a discussion he was giving and used that as an analogy. But as far as documentation i could not find any. Brother Adam
What Luther actually said: A Commentary on St. Paul's Epistle to the Galatians: "Let us confess with Paul that all our work-righteousness is loss and dung. Let us condemn as filthy rags all talk about free will, all religious orders, masses, ceremonies, vows, fastings, and the like..."
