I feel faithless.. :( I have tendency to over analyze things.. when i think of something, somehow it always goes into a connection disproving God, and i dont like it. I feel like satan is attacking me :sadder: Things like this national geographic movie i saw at shopko that read "Was Jesus a myth? A metaphor? Learn about what this 1st century peasant really wanted" It makes me think too much and i feel so alone and faithless :(

I find it ironic that things just appear in places to probe my mind and make me weak..

Please say a few extra prayers for me?

Look at a crucifix. You can;'t deny truth when you're staring it in the eye. That's what I do when I am not feeling faith...it really helps. And from there, just talk to God about it. He understands. You're not alone!

i will pray for you.

However, I dont think that having a questioning mind is a bad thing. I think we are called to know why we believe such things. Having experience with doubts will help you to minister to those who have them as well.
Dont be affraid to question your faith. When you search for answers and find them, your faith will be supported because you will know why you believe.
I'd also recomend to spending time with Christ to deepen your relationship. With a strong relationship with Him, thoughts and feelings of doubt will take a backseat.

I have been through similar experiences with doubt in Christ presence in the Eucharist. Prayer, adoration, researching in apologetic books and the like all helped me out.

I dont think you are faithless. I think you just need to use the faith you already have. It can move mountains.

Ash Wednesday

You will be undergoing constant attack, especially if you go to college, even a Catholic one. But you'll find that for every argument against Christianity, there's always someone there who can refute in response. The whole "Jesus was a myth" bit has been demolished by a great deal of historians. Most historians (at least the smart ones) believe he existed, even if they aren't Christian per se, they don't deny his existance.

And our friend Andy is right.

Pray for me, too. Often I feel quite faithless -- especially lately I feel like my prayers are being ignored.

Patience is a virtue...

Try reading Sacred Scripture. It's the most versatile kind of prayer because it doesn't depend on our feelings to make it sincere. And since it's completely inspired by the Holy Spirit, we directly recieve wisdom, understanding, counsel, FORTITUDE, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord from reading it.

Just pick a passage that applies (i recommend the Psalms for how you're feeling right now) and just read it and contemplate it. Make that your prayer. God will take care of the rest.

You have my prayers.

el paz,

-Joe
