for a Wedding

:D So I'm going to be getting married in a little over a year, and I want an amazing Catholic wedding. We (my boyfriend and I) have talked about offering confessions for an hour before the Mass, cause there's lots of people who just receive Jesus at weddings without being in the proper disposition. We're going to have some awesome music by good friends...but I wanted to see what else?

Anyone have any good ideas? For the actual Mass or for the reception?

Like what should we do in place of taking of the garter...cause that gets a little nuts sometimes, and we're not really feeling it....

Suggetions?

Well, nothing really out of the ordinary. Nothing even that comes to mind, to be honest. Just the typical stuff. I'm not really sure. I'll be the first to get married, so we haven't had a famioly wedding yet...not my immediate family at least. Good thought though...I could look more into it.

Thanks!

I suggest playing the Rocky theme, you know, from Rocky ("Adrian!!!")?

If I get married, I'm definately going to have that played. My wife can pick anything she wants, as long as I have that.

pal, i sincerely doubt that will be allowed to be played during a Mass wedding...or even a church wedding.

That's what I met.

Wait, would I be able to have the Rocky theme played after we kiss and run down the isle?

Back to the topic: Is the reception going to be held at a club? My uncle's reception was held at a local club (not a ghetto or neon one), and it was pretty nice. They had a DJ and a large buffet.

We might have 10 people out of 50~70 actually receive communion at my wedding. My family is religous but not Catholic and my fiancee's family is Catholic but not religious. We're going to have a priest come to each of us before the wedding so we can have reconciliation before the Mass. I like the offering confession before the wedding idea.

I am actually going through this process of preparing for a wedding right now, but I don't get to do a whole lot of the planning - I've got a bride for that. I'm still going to do the garter toss. I've caught enough of them in my day (4 thus far, with only one more chance at another one) that it wouldn't be fair for me not to offer one for a lucky guy to catch.

we didn't have a Mass wedding because almost no one besides prolly 4-5 people would've received and the rest would have been clueless

but i think the confession before your wedding is a pretty sweet idea if you're both Catholic.

Let's see......... we have the dollar dance........mariachis during the reception, How about a statue of the Infant Jesus and a statue of Our Lady at your table? That is what i want!!!!

We also have the chicken dance, we had confessions at my best friends wedding at the rehearsal and before the wedding. that way, the line wouldn't be so LONG!
