I refuse to speculate. the church teaches that anyone with unconfessed mortal sin (or someone who has not made a perfect act of contrition in an event where there is no opportunity for sacramental confession) at the time of death is sadly banished to hell for eternity. It is a most unfortunate thing. God is so merciful and his grace so abundant.
I think the number of devout Catholic on earth is probably less than 5%... so yeah, about 95%
Can we please not start this again? The Second Vatican Council teaches, and Pope John Paul II affirms in his encyclical Dominus Iesus, that evn those who are not physically members of the Catholic Church can go to Heaven, but if they do it is by Christ and through the Church. There is no other way. This does not exclude someone though, who, through no fault of their own, does not know Christ or his Church.

I suggest this thread be closed before this really gets out of hand.

Heh. It's easy to think for a day or two when you won't have to for the rest of your life.

Does anyone know the precise temperature of Hell? The Church teaches that it's quite hot, but I haven't seen any exact figures.

Also, does the temperature fluctuate, like Earthly weather, or does it remain fixed?

Any guidance is appreciated.
Ask God to include the details  in His next book. ;)
I didn't know He was writing another one. How did I miss that?

If He is, I hope He doesn't include any of that "A begat B, who begat C, etc." carp that he put in the last one. That stuff was kinda boring after a while.

don't know, don't care...we can't speculate b/c we aren't the person who is face to face with our final judgement.

All we know is that there are people already in hell, and we know that many people will go to hell, but shooting off numbers is a waste of time.

God bless,
Mikey

I'll round off and say that 10 percent very few are going to hell, 10% think very many are going to hell, and 80% refuse to speculate.
