Confirmation

That is one of my biggest concerns, so many people that i have talked to are receiving a sacrament that is not truely theirs because they dont truely accept it. So in that case would it be better for them to wait, or not, cause in the time of waiting faith can slip.

I got confirmed in 9th grade, and i really dont remember all that much, I remember two days later (9-11-01) much better, but i feel that i was too youth, or maybe that wasnt' it, but i felt that i was not completely ready becase I was not completely making the choice for myself, it was more like my class was getting confirmed, so i was too, now i am happy that i am confirmed, but i wish that i had made the decision more for myself.

A little north of St.Louis in Springfield, IL, everyone at our church did it in 8th grade as well. It was a Catholic school, and from what I remember everyone who got confirmed that actually went to the school was ok with it. I dont know about public school kids though. Then we moved to Texas and I had to wait till last August to get confirmed! Three years after all of my friends! But I think by the time I got confirmed I knew what I was getting into, which I probably couldn't have said in 8th grade. A buddy of mine getting confirmed is doing it because his mom is making him, and they've come to the agreement that she will stop making him come to church every Sunday if he gets Confirmed. Kinda sad when ya hear stuff like that...
