Ash Wednesday
I get the sense that the press is twisting things around to make the pope look like some ignorant, hateful man. But most people are too dumb to even attempt to wrap their heads around the entire message he is communicating.

Myles Domini
From the news report I could not decipher whether the Pope had explicitly referred to Gay Marriage as part of the ideology of evil or simply placed it that title in broad terms. Either way, its partly irrelevant since the effect is pretty much the same. As we all acknowledge according to natural law that which falls short of its potential is objectively evil. There is a privation of some good that should be present and is not. Marriage is a natural sacrament that has existed even before the fall of man and it is clear to the reason of all human beings that the ends to which is oriented is at once 'unitive' and 'fruitful'. A Homosexual marriage cannot be at once 'unitive' and 'fruitful' there is thus a privation of some good that should be present and objectively then a homosexual marriage can be called evil. It would far from surprise me if this is what His Holiness means. After all its Catholic teaching and always has been. I doubt his references were as sensational as reuters makes them out to be but His Holiness isnt the type to try and obscure the constant message of the Catholic faith. I can readily believe he did refer in some way to homosexual marriage as an evil and, naturally, he was right to do so. Its not nasty its just in accordance with Scripture and traditional Catholic philosophy. Once more His Holiness is calling those who have homosexual tendencies to embrace the mysterious cross they carry on they bear like those brave members of the Courage Apostolate. While, simultaneously calling us to do our part to evangelise society and prevent occassions of sin appearing in the lives of those brethren of ours who must be martyrs for God as a witness to the culture of death. Ash Wednesday
doing gods work on this earth has made him a tired man. Hey, you asked what I thought.
That's true... he's tired and he's old. But he's also tired for good reason and has done a lot more in his life than you could probably hope for. And me for that matter. God bless! Edited February 24, 2005 by foundsheep
Myles Domini
A pontiff like no other!.
Would you mind, for the sake of good old philosophical debate, mind telling us how you can maintain this position. I'm not saying this to be provocative, honestly. I am genuinely interested in hearing what you have to say, maybe you can give us an angle we're not considering?
