Evolution Controversy

Adaptation to one's surroundings does not = evolution.

I believe that God had given all creatures, in His infinite wisdom and knowledge, a way for his creatures to adapt to their environment. Since, he is the beginning and the end he knows what he must do for his creations to survive.

Species changing to meet it's environment is not an evolution into a better species but an adaptation to it's surroundings.

ad·ap·ta·tion (dp-tshn)
n.
1. The acquisition of modifications in an organism that enable it to adjust to life in a new environment.

ev·o·lu·tion (v-lshn, v-)
n.
1. A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form.

Henceforth, IMHO, evolution is a change that a species somehow wills itself into, where as adaptation is triggered as a response.
Evolution is a theory at best. Anything you say about creationism is just as applicable to evolution. Both models require faith, because we were not at the beginning nor can we reproduce it. The one who believes in evolution and the one who believes in creation must both do the same thing: place his faith somewhere. Belief in evolution does not make one any more "scientific" than the one who believes in creation.
Alot of people hear the word 'theory' and they think its the same as a theory that green men live on mars. They are not the same.

Theory: A theory is more like a scientific law than a hypothesis. A theory is an explanation of a set of related observations or events based upon proven hypotheses and verified multiple times by detached groups of researchers. One scientist cannot create a theory; he can only create a hypothesis.

In general, both a scientific theory and a scientific law are accepted to be true by the scientific community as a whole. Both are used to make predictions of events. Both are used to advance technology.

Creationism falls into the little green men on mars theory. It has no science behind it at all. It has the bible and it has people who believe in the bible as literally true. Thats it. As far as both requiring faith, I would agree. I think its impossible to ever know how life ever came to be.
