jgirl
I'm a grad student studying French literature. 10 hours of my assistantship consist of sitting in a lab where all but four of the comps are broken so nobody comes in, so I check out phatmass and play duck hunt. theculturewarrior
that's cool! What period of French literature? I once sat in on a presentation for the Alliance Francaise by a professor whose specialty was medieval Provencal. That stuff sounds wicked when spoken, and translates beautifully. BullnaChinaShop
I was a grad student up until this past August and I did not post all that much during the year I worked on my Masters.

BullnaChinaShop
Yeah, I just can't tear myself away. I'm a junky, really.
I am an engineer so I spent a large chunk of my time working on the computer while I was working on my masters. So I still lurked quite a bit but I didn't take the time to post much. theculturewarrior
I work in a library, at a "help desk" in an internet research lab. (i.e. reference desk). At one point I thought phatmassing was fine, because it seemed like there was a lot of downtime, but I've accumulated a modicum of responsibilities, and my addiction has become an embarassment to me. I still Phatmass here and there. But for the most part, I want to have something else to show for my day. It's Lent.
Theoketos
I am graduate student in Theology. I have had to limit the time I phatmass. But I do not watch TV or have the internet at home.
Birgitta Noel
Me! me! I'm a PhD student in Health Care Ethics. We have a small dept, 6 of us in coursework and 5 professors. It's a great department. My assistantship is 20 hours a week, I edit journals, and am writing for a nationally distributed ethics education project that's distributed via CD-ROM. It's a great job. I take three classes a semester. In May I'll be done with one year of course work and then I have one remaining year of classes, oral and written comps., and then one year to write my dissertation. When do I Phatmass? When I shouldn't! And I use it as a distraction when I'm writing papers etc. Usually I just pop in for a few seconds and read or leave a short post. That's why most of my posts are so short!
