Do you ever?

I've been feeling ever so slightly doubtful lately. When we converted, I read a bit and it just "clicked." But lately I feel the need to really read the "proof" for myself. Like the primacy of Rome in the early Church and whatnot. Not serious doubts, just sometimes wondering...

Ellenita,

We talked about something similar to this in my liturgy class at seminary recently. We spoke of how the Liturgy both reflects and informs our beliefs and my instructor (a priest) asked for examples. I mentioned how discouraging it can be for converts to see sloppy liturgies and apathetic congregations when we are used to something much more alive and active (even "slick"). We then of course talked of the importance of doing liturgy "right" and as if it had meaning (and it does).

Anyway, all this to say that what you are experiencing is normal, and that there can be understandable reasons for feeling doubts. I encourage you to spend some time with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Feel His peace surround you and reassure you.

peace...

Feed your Faith.

There are good reasons for everything we believe. I have had doubts, serious doubts at times. But the Church has never disappointed me.

I have had doubts...but never have I once even thought that what I did was a mistake. The Reason I converted was because of the Truth...and I know that...so whenever I doubt, I just look to Holy Mother Church who picks me up in her arms and says, "Don't worry my child, you are home...there is nothing to worry about."

Totus tuus,
Andrew Joseph
