Guest Eremite
There are times when people pose hard questions about Catholicism, and if I don't have an answer, I'm tempted to think "Maybe they're right". But for me, the alternative to Catholicism is not Protestantism, but paganism. I firmly believe Protestantism is an inherently illogical system of belief, and so I could never embrace it. I do not believe Eastern Orthodoxy maintains the true Patristic constitution of the Church. So if Catholicism is not true, then for me, all is lost. I will pack things up and live like the heathen. Either Catholicism is true, or nothing is true. Fortunately, I firmly believe Catholicism IS true. And to quote St. Augustine, "a thousand questions do not equal one doubt." Isaiah41:13
I'm Roman Catholic. I was born and raised Catholic, but not in a strong Catholic family-- meaning we usually only went to church on Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving. My parents divorced when I was in third grade and we stopped going to church on Christmas and we seldom went on Easter. By Freshman year of high school, my mother and I weren't getting along at all so my brother and I started spending more time at our father's house. He started taking us to church every Sunday and making sure we were involved in Youth Group and CCD. It was about 2 years later when I realized how much it meant to me. To me, Catholic is the only true religion and it is my home. That is why I am Catholic.
Tink
Personally, if I weren't a Catholic, I'd be an atheist. And since I've refuted my own arguments as well as arguments from others for the atheistic logic, I cannot subscribe to such a view, thus leaving me with the fullness of the Truth, Catholicism! jezic
we had a choice in this matter? ....... I don't think so. I am Catholic and i choose to be it everday. I would say though that i choose to believe the whole Truth of God which is only manifested in the Catholic church. I cannot be defined by a word. yiannii
I, like many other converts, although I was Baptised a Catholic, was dragged kicking and screaming into the Catholic Church. In the beginning I didn't want to be a Catholic. I hated the Church for failing me when I was younger (She didn't really fail me, rather the "Catholic" educators who were supposed to teach me the truth failed me). At first I was brought back on an intellectual level - just like on an intellectual level I came to the realisation that there HAD to be a God. Three years down the track I am loving the Church AKA Christ's Mystical Body.

Thy Geekdom Come
As a revert from nominal secularist "Catholicism," it's good to look to the Magisterium and know I can get the fullness of truth.
God Conquers
I could only become a Catholic because it is the only religion which sees no contradiction between a pipe, a pint and a prayer. ~GK Chesterton
