Paladin D
I agree with Mrs. Bro Adam. This bickering behavior gives Catholics on this board a bad name. If I thought you guys could engage in a constructive dialogue without resorting to name-calling, then I would suggest you do that.
Exactly.
Good Friday
I apologize for my part in this fiasco, which has been significant, to say the least. I especially apologize to Cheryl, who did not in any way deserve what I said to her. I profoundly disagree with y'all on almost everything, but I'm not going to fight with you about it anymore. God bless.

crusader1234
*shame*
-_- I personally think that the debate table should be locked until something worth discussing comes up. Right now there are no good topics, so we're sinking our teeth into eachother. Shame indeed.
PedroX
This thread largely explains why I no longer am a regular poster. Iron Monk blows up about something, and next thing you know everybody is insulting everybody. I still love PhatMass, and will be eternally grateful to it. I enjoy being a mod on the converts board (Dust, please let me have this one piece of meaning in my life! ) but I don't enjoy posting in the Debate table as much as I used to. Perhaps too, it has to do with being a seminarian as well and knowing I need to be more careful of what I say that I did in the past. Anyway, it was good to see lots of folks crawling out of the woodwork on this one. Kilroy, Az, Princess Bling Bling, The Adam's etc. Dust, know that I pray regularly for you and that this is a good work. God bless you. peace... crusader1234
Phatmass is most DEFINATELY a good work. If it weren't for Phatmass, like most cradle Catholics, I would have ended up Atheist/3 times a year Catholic. On behalf of all Phatmassers that owe their faith to you, thank you so much for this site. And I know there are a lot of us. May you be in Heaven a full half hour before the devil knows you're dead. jezic
yea cooler heads prevailed. This is much better. I agree that i would strongly consider avoiding the church forever if this was my one experience of Catholicism. Good thing it isn't. The other huge part of the entire thing is forgiveness. By the way dust, this board is awesome. It didn't help me become truly Catholic. THta happened a few years ago. It helped me understand why i am catholic. hopeful1
Just wanted to say that Ironmonk's zeal is a big part of why I joined Phatmass.
ditto to that. Ironmonk's zeal and knowledge made me pround to be catholic, especially when i was dealing with some very anticatholic people before i joined the board. on the other side of the coin, hyper opened my eyes to people who are suffering within the church, and, dispite the temptations of the world, desires to remain a faithful catholic. i have a profound amount of respect for both of them and consider them both to be among my heroes on phatmass. it's tragic when either one of them leave for any length of time. Sojourner
I’m going to briefly break my posting fast to comment on this thread. The fact that we have conflict on this board doesn't bother me at all. It doesn't even bother me that we don't always say the kindest things to one another. Disagreements and conflict are a part of life, and because of the fact that we're all human, we sometimes sin in the course of these disagreements and arguments – which I don’t think on the face of it says anything bad about us as Catholics. The thing that should distinguish us as Catholics is not that we don't have disagreements, or even that we don’t insult one another, but that we resolve those disagreements in a Christ-like fashion. Part of being a Christian means being committed to remaining in fellowship with the body of Christ. That, in my mind, means that when we have differences we come together in humility to work them out. We don’t pretend nothing has happened. We don’t ignore problems. We don’t cut off communication. We don’t give up on a relationship because we feel insulted. Instead, we proactively work toward reconciliation. As a final note, I'm on a posting break until Easter, but I'm checking my PMs. That's it.
spathariossa
Oh, side note to Dan aka Alina - I'm not ignorant of ssa's thinking they're in the wrong body - All are in the right body... God made us - not man. You've got a lot to learn. You've been told wrong. God does not make mistakes. If you want to talk genetics and such - come to Moral Truth. I've mapped dna, have you? I've studied these topics in depth from all sides, have you? There is no such thing as someone "transgendered" - we cannot change our gender. Gender remains as God made us. (I'm not going to see your reply on this board)
I'd thank you to refer to me with my legal name. I don't care whether you see this or not but the simple fact of the matter is you continually ignore that I don't have SSA. I never have and I never will. Enjoy yourself off of Phatmass, maybe one of these days you'll actually have a difficulty in your life that will give you the gifts of compassion and charity. I seriously doubt it however.
