so you used a definition of condition that didn't apply, looking for the offense. He meant condition in the sense of a mental disorder. You just made his point for him.
I used the first definition in the subsection 4. Definition 4c related to medical disorders. However, I don't believe it was all out of context.
It isn't sexual. I hate sex and find it repellant. I don't discuss sexual issues. I discuss gender issues. Big difference.
Just a technical correction:
Gender is defined as
a) a subclass within a grammatical class (as noun, pronoun, adjective, or verb) of a language that is partly arbitrary but also partly based on distinguishable characteristics (as shape, social rank, manner of existence, or sex) and that determines agreement with and selection of other words or grammatical forms
b) membership of a word or a grammatical form in such a subclass
c) an inflectional form showing membership in such a subclass.

Sex is defined as
a) either of the two major forms of individuals that occur in many species and that are distinguished respectively as female or male
b)the sum of the structural, functional, and behavioral characteristics of living things that are involved in reproduction by two interacting parents and that distinguish males and females

Gender applies to words. Sex applies to people (or other living things, depending on the context). This distinction has been obliterated by the modern politically correct language police (the inclusive language crowd) who seek to neuter language to suit their political agenda.

dUSt, I'm not sure if this is possible, but what if we added one or two more Debate table moderators, and you had to suggest a debate topic to them before it got posted? That would make for...
1) Fewer duplicate Polls that are confusing
2) Fewer personal debates which don't help anyone
3) Less hurt feelings

I just love the debate table and I'm getting sick to freakin' death of what its turned into. Everyones bringing out the sucker punches and its not pleasant or conducive to good debate.

Peace,
Rich

I disagree. I like the debate table the way it is - a free exchange of ideas!
MOre government regulation is not the answer. ;)

A free exchange of ideas would be exponentially more productive if moderators could be more effective. For some reason, having 2 'occasion to sin' polls and 3 eucharist/mass polls doesn't seem good to me. I mean, people constantly circumvent threads being locked, people constantly launch into debates that only head in one direction (people getting angry)... I mean I'm all for free exchange of ideas but there are a ton of ideas that are jeopardizing the credibility of the debate table and just generally making for a bad environment.

ok, well I'm not about to go back and read all 7 pages of senseless arguing, so my apologize if I'm repeating something, or speaking blindly, or completely off-base.

This is a Phorum for youth. More specifically, Catholic youth... although we have our beloved non-Catholics as well. And honestly, I don't expect many twelve-year-olds to be interested in phorums about the Catholic faith, and if they are, then I believe they would have the maturity to consider and understand the concepts talked about in the SSA thread(s). If not, I don't believe it to be too detrimental. After all, where would you rather a child learn about homosexual tendencies, same sex attraction, etc.- Phatmass.com, or today's society? I'd place my trust in the former.

In conclusion, I like the phorum the way it is. That is all.

Late again. I would have like to discuss Spath's issues. He makes valid points about things that he totally misunderstands. If that makes any sense.

dUSt, I would ask you to reconsider the suspension. I'm not going to push the issue, but I'd ask you to consider that she was mean to people (and I acknowledge that she was) because this is all very difficult for her, and she'd like to have the love and respect from her Catholic brothers and sisters that she deserves -- and she isn't getting it.

I agree with Good Friday, this is a very difficult subject. Having read all the threads as the true lurker at heart that I am the conclusion to me is that you have someone who keeps getting the same arguments/reactions repeatedly with an ever present association with homosexuality, which tends to make it seem that no one is really taking in the points that Spath is trying to make. It seems that some progress is made, then someone chimes in Spath gets all fired up, repeat...

Honestly, I think the most effective and helpful way for Phatmass to help Spath would be an individual discusion with one other Phatmasser.
So he/she won't see my grammatical correction?
Maybe he won't see the grammatical correction you posted, but it is appreciated anyway.

God bless,
Todd
