Help with Editing an Editorial

Alright everyone. I'm editing an editorial for NarniaFans.com, that one of my writers wrote. I want this site to be Catholic in nature, and am having a little bit of difficulty in making this editorial Catholic, but still share her point of view. Now, the editorial is about Sacrifice, and I have bolded the text that I have problems with. It's by GRACE that we are saved, and Grace is a gift that is a combination of faith AND works. And it is possible to lose salvation. I have a few options. I can leave it as is. I can change it to be Catholic in a subtle way, or I can add an editors note to it. Now, and editors note would stick out and probably turn people off to the site and possibly even the Catholic Church, but when it comes to apologetics, there is a time and place for everything, and that could be too blunt. Anyway, here's an except with the lines in question in the [b]BOLD[/b] print. Any ideas?[quote]One occurrence of sacrifice comes from the lion Aslan, in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. that line is correct.

salvation is indeed a free gift that we must accept. the distinction between protestantism and catholicism is that, whereas they believe one must accept it only once, catholics believe we must accept it every day. so, you could leave it as is and it would actually appeal to both protestants and catholics. but, if you are shooting for a distinctly catholic identity you could add the words "every day" at the end, or the word "daily" before "accept."

Yeah that does help, thanks a ton! I just needed someone to see it from another viewpoint, and that helped a lot.

Agreed. It is fine as it is because "gift" is synonymous with "grace". And, in this context, "accept" implies accepting by faith. So the writer does include grace, faith and human freedom. I would keep it just the way it is because it can definitely be interepreted in an orthodox way.
