spathariossa
yea. he's cool. i'm also in it for the mega-churches and televangelism.
Yeah! Televangelism! I love those guys who hold the rattlesnakes and sing praises to God because there is some passage in the bible that says the followers of the Lord will hold snakes. Then they drink the venom because it also says no deadly thing can harm them. Those guys are clearly filled with the holy spirit! I think I want to convert to protestantism now... Venom has to be put into the bloodstream. Poison is the stuff that is digested.
XIX
I am very unhappy in our current church.
I'm not sure what your "current church" is, but I want to let you know that emotions don't determine the state of your soul. A relatively righteous man can be very unhappy while a godless person might feel happy during certain times. Don't let being unhappy or happy be the sole impetus behind what religions you go to. Sometimes God put us through difficult times so we can be remined of how much we need him, and we all need that.

Rich*
Why Protestantism? What is it that keeps you out of the church, and in Protestantism? Is it a doctrine that you find against scripture? Is it hesitation? Why remain Protestant and not come into the Church?
I do not find anything in my church's teaching that is contrary to scripture. I believe we worship the same God and therefore to a certain extent it does not matter that I am 'anglican' and you are 'catholic', we both will go to Heaven if we believe in the Lord Jesus. If however a church/denomination/person teaches that which is not true to the matters of first importance (ie. directly related to Gods sovereignty and salvation) then I would not accept them. I do not find such contradictions in my church and therefore believe its teachings (so long as they are in line with the bible). I do not know enough about catholicism to say whether this is true of your faith or not (that is why I am here) God Bless, Rich
StColette
Welcome to Phatmass Rich
I do not know enough about catholicism to say whether this is true of your faith or not (that is why I am here)
I wanted to edit in response to this statement. I highly commend you on putting forth the effort to not jump to conclusions but rather to research and learn about what the Catholic Church truly teaches. This is in fact a rare thing to see, so thank you Edited January 31, 2005 by StColette
