I tried to escape once. They wouldn't let me go outside on smokebreaks anymore. :(

Okay I really appreciate everyone using the lovely Mary Magdalene in their examples. But there is nothing in the bible that says she did anything..... I searched it just to make sure.
That chick who almost got stoned? doesn't say it was Magdalene, same goes for the crying chick .....

I am not trying to be salty or self righteous right now. I just want to defend Mary Magdalenes reputation, it seemsthat she got pinned with a lot of stuff she didn't do.

Lets use David....... Now he screwed up. That is the guy I relate to the BIG sinner that God really loved and blessed and forgave anyway. I am a lot closer to that guy, I have everything, never stopped loving God....... Screwed up royaly. Yup fits the bill. ;)

Mary Magdalene has a beautiful reputation, whether or not the "legend" is true. I don't think she would mind. If I recall correctly, she is the one that Jesus drove seven demons from. Whether or not the sinful women in the Bible were the Magdalena or not...the Scriptures still show a love and redemption for all. Jesus exalted the sinful woman who cried at his feet. Jesus consoled and brought conversion to the Samaritan woman.

I know, you have regrets. I know what's it like to look back and see a black gaping hole. Today is a new day though, and God loves you. If only you knew how much!

Why is it so hard for people to believe Mary Magdalene is the "sinful woman" and the crying woman? Church tradition teaches that she is both. o.o I believe it.

St. Mary Magdalene's my patron saint. ^__^ She's the lady on my avatar. I love her. Haven't talked to her in a while, though...

....Btw, she's the patron saint of repentant sinners, if that helps any.

The Church Fathers identified her as the sinful woman in the Gospel, so it is Church teaching. It is revisionist history to see her any other way.

You too eh?

I don't really have any good advice to give. But I can tell you that I don't look down on people who have done wrong. As long as you've repented and are trying your best to live life according to God's will. The most important thing is that you realized your mistakes and you're trying to amend your life. Hang in there. We've all done things in our past that we're not proud of. I know I have and there are probably gonna be more in the future.

I've heard you like people for who they are.

And love them for thier defects.

Even though the gift that was meant for your future spouse alone is gone, that doesn't mean it's too late to start over. She'll love you either way. I kinda imagine a future spouse like a shadow of God's love for us. Loving us unconditionally and helping each other get to heaven. Don't lose Hope. To depair is the worse thing you can do.

Pray before the blessed Sacrament. Have Courage. Trust in God.

prayers.

Love your sig, by the way

You aren't the first, you won't be the last. Out of 25 million Catholics in America, I suspect you would discover not only are you not alone, but you have a lot of company. Everybody else has covered the rest of that thought, and I won't beat the dead horse any further.

You've obviously throught about it and repented. But you still feel a burden. Pray to Jesus to take the burden . . . he's taken worse. Offer this up and move forward. You have an awareness of the values you cherish . . . follow that image . . . hold on to them . . . seek them out . . . live them from now on (and forget the past, Jesus does, Mary does, God does)

As a practical matter, if a man can be ordained a priest after living "the life" . . . if Augustine could be ordained, and be a Bishop, and a Church Father, after being a libertine, you can still be a "good" Catholic girl . . . and, if that is where you are led, I suspect an even better Catholic wife and mother. . . or missionary . . . or professional . . . or whatever or wherever you are called to be
