Female acolytes are not.

Female altar servers are permitted (as an indult) in the Roman Rite, but they are not permitted at all in the Eastern Rites.

And yes, according to canon 230 § 1 of the Latin Rite [u]Code of Canon Law[/u], only men can be instituted to the ministries of the acolytate and the lectorate.
