Giving Up Your Life For Another.

Something I think a lot of people do not realize....

One of the greatest shows of love for Christ is giving up our life for another person.

This does not just mean dying.

This can also mean living. For instance say you are in a marriage that you feel like you just don't feel love anymore...

This can be a living martyrdom for Christ. Always focus on Christ.

Ignore what most people say the big lie: "you have to do what makes you happy. You have to follow your heart."

Focus on Christ. For the unbeliever is sanctified by the believer.... and 'for better or worse' pretty much covers everything. (annullments are a different issue).

People say "life is shot"... I say "No it's not! It's forever!"... we don't live for this world... we live for Christ.

Pray, Pray, Pray.... look at St. Augustine, his mother prayed for him for 16 years, and he became one of the greatest bishops in the history of the Catholic Church.

Just a few thoughts...

God Bless, Your Servant in Christ,

ironmonk

Yes, agreed.

It is just as good to LIVE for Christ (if not better) than to die for Christ.

Phi 1:21 For to me, to go on living is Christ, and to die is gain.

Phi 1:22 Now if I go on living in this body, that will produce more results, yet I do not know which I would prefer.

Phi 1:23 inDouche, I cannot decide between the two. I have the desire to leave this life and be with Christ, for that is far better.

Phi 1:24 But for your sake it is better that I remain in this body.

Faithful heart

I so agree with you, I think if more people would take this approach in their marriage, with their children, then maybe the families in our society and everywhere would be much better. We could also include elderly people who need taking care of and not just thrown away! I say live for Christ, by living for others!!!!

My husband is living proof that we all can't just do what makes us happy. Believe me, he's building up treasures in heaven... ;)

Well, first of all he's a teacher. And he wants to be a teacher. Specifically a Catholic school teacher (even though he could make twice as much money teaching at public schools. Yep. Twice as much.) And second, he puts up with my hormonally challanged self. A lot. And I'm pretty mean and scary, and petty and child-like sometimes. Oh yeah, and bossy. But I think he has eternal hope that it will get better. :P

People say "life is shot"...

Should read:

"People say 'life is short'..."

Sorry... it was late.
