HisChild Posted March 13, 2006 Share Posted March 13, 2006 It's interesting that they receive their religious name upon entrance (many communities state that you really 'enter' the community as a novice, hence why you receive a habit at that time),a scapular and black veil during their second year novitiate(instead of receiving the balck veil at vows as most communities do). Not not not criticizing! Just interesting to read about the different ways communities do things. I love their habit and how they cover their hair, and how the postulants also wear a veil, as many communities (active) don't do that. (I only saw a very few when I was discerning active life.)
