jdjars
yeah, nothing but. Your eys and ears are gateways into your soul. What goes in, will come out. Especially when you willingly put yourself into the worlds influence listening to secular music. The world when mention by paul, Hes speaking of a system, a way of doing things. Just as Gods kingdom is...watch what you listen too...its effecting you weather you realise it or not. Even if you tell your self it doesn't.
bravo. thats how i feel. christian music gives something back to you.. i mean, its not wrong or anything to listen to secular music; i do alot. but sometimes after listening for a while i think "what did i gain from that? will listening to that help me radiate Christ in my everyday life?" and then I switch cds and put in Newsboys' Devotion or something.
True..our name changed, but not our beliefs....cause if you believe what those band believe (that you listed) we would have no Eucharist no Pope no Confession no Mary no sacraments hey, but at least we would have contraception...oh wait...contraception is bad. FutureSoror
I've been hearing this awesome song on the radio lately by Casting Crowns. I don't think the lyrics do justice to the song, but it is so deep, and touching... When your music turns into meditation and not just entertainment, or even just stress relief, I think you've really got something. Voice Of Truth Oh what I would do to have The kind of faith it takes To climb out of this boat I'm in Onto the crashing waves To step out of my comfort zone Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is And He's holding out His hand But the waves are calling out my name And they laugh at me Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed The waves they keep on telling me Time and time again. "Boy, you'll never win!" "You'll never win!" Chorus: But the voice of truth tells me a different story The voice of truth says, "Do not be afraid!" The voice of truth says, "This is for My glory" Out of all the voices calling out to me I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth Oh what I would do to have The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant With just a sling and a stone Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors Shaking in their armor Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand But the giant's calling out my name And he laughs at me Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed The giant keeps on telling me Time and time again. "Boy you'll never win!" "You'll never win!" But the stone was just the right size To put the giant on the ground And the waves they don't seem so high From on top of them lookin' down I will soar with the wings of eagles When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus Singing over me I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth
ForHimAlone
I love "Voice of Truth!" I pretty much only listen to Relevant Radio (our Catholic radio station) or Christian stations. I really can't stand much else.

MichaelFilo
I hate to listen to any one thing because it belongs to any category. I'm no relativist, but I do love a good music. I listen to everything, and I do mean it quite literarly, I have no reservation against any music. If the lyrics are good, and the music is good then it is likeable. I don't listen to much exclusivly Christian (aka Protestant) music, since I have trouble listening without picking apart lyrics for non-Catholic lyrics. Personally, I'll listen to anything if it is a good tune, has lyrics with some sort of meaningful message without unneccesary vulgarity. Christian music I'll listen to, but I usually won't initiatie it, much like certain country songs, orm ostly all of music.. hmm I don't really liten to it much... overall... Anyways, the answer is yes I listen to it, just not very often. God bless, Mikey

franciscanheart
its like my main music these days. im always in the car going somewhere so i usually tune into a christian station here in the city or i play one of my rockin cd's (most of which, in the car, are christian bands.) i think its awesome. especially when you have such cool artists living around here. i went to a club a few weeks ago, or a kinda club, its called the door and i went to go see my friends bro's band play (yeah he's cute haha) and it ended up being a christian band night!! his was the only non-christian band haha but everyone else was and there were so many different styles!! it was so neat!! so conclusion... yes i do. robotman0
I listen to Christian music all the time. I used to just listen to worship songs.....which tend to be repetetive but thats ok sometimes. Lately I've been listening to other types of Christian music.....like Seven Sorrows and Kutless. Kutless is my favorite right now
