MichaelFilo
French revolution = bad. Why, because it rejected God. And Bonaparte was a trickster. If these two components weren't mixed so vividly with Napoleon's military capabality, it wouldn't of laste dlong. Jefferson wasn't the best president at any rate. crusader1234
Napoleon actually didn't have much to do with the Revolution, like people think. He came in after everything had already been done
MichaelFilo
He used the revolution as a means to get to the top. The actual French revolution I would say didn't end till his fall, by sheer virtue that France revolted against all of Europe. But internally, yes, he came inat the end of the fighting. Guest Aluigi
woooaah... so much agreement "I thought ten thousand swords must have leaped from their scabbards to avenge even a look that threatened her [Queen Marie Antoinette] with insult." -Edmunde Burke
crusader1234
In grade 5 (I think) we read a book about her and since then I've been hooked on French and Holy Roman royalty (its actually way more interesting than those Anglican ones). I love the stories about Madame Royale and the possible switch hahah
spathariossa
He also owned and raped slaves. Lovely man that Jefferson.
Socrates
There is no solid evidence that Jefferson raped his slaves. Slave ownership was common among the aristocracy of this time, and Jefferson is said to have treated his slaves humanely. I am not excusing the whole business of slavery, but we need to put things into perspective. This "raping slaves" stuff is revisionist slander. There has been a concerted effort by the Left to smear the reputations of all the American founders, and preach a revisionist anti-American "history" that puts down all American heroes and our country's heritage, and preach nothing but how racist and repressive America (and all Western civilization) was. This is done to make citizens hate their country's traditional values and be open to Radical Leftist indoctrination. delta557
Didn't Jefferson have like a jillion out of wedlock children with his slave-women? Yeah, Jefferson wasn't the greatest all-around guy, but in the end he was well intentioned, at least with our new nation and all.

spathariossa
Didn't Cathqat already explain that we're supposed to hate America's traditional values because they're anti-christian?
