cathqat
The one-volume... Christian Prayer? Anyway, the best way to learn to navigate it, honestly, is to have someone show you in person. Trust me
PedroX
Zigg, May God bless you as you start to pray the prayer of the Church! I believe I can help you out, even though I use the four volume set. I have a copy of the one volume set so lets see. Today is the 2nd Sunday of ordinary time. Morning prayer begins on page 780, with the Gospel Canticle on page 691. And, the antiphons and closing prayer are on page 246. Just follow along in the Psalmodyand proper and you should have no problems. The gospel canticle (Magnificat) for evening prayer is located on page 696. Hope this helps! peace... drewmeister2
I asked a former Seminarian at my school to show me. A priest or seminarian, current or former, are the best people to show you.
ThyWillBeDone
Don't let it frustrate you to much, I remember it being really confusing when I first started praying the LOTH, but after a few weeks you have down and it will be a great help in your prayer life. I don't know what I would do without it. God Bless

una_fide
The one-volume... Christian Prayer? Anyway, the best way to learn to navigate it, honestly, is to have someone show you in person. Trust me
Guess what, I have "Shorter Christian Prayer" that only has Lauds, Vespers, and Compline in it. My pastor gave it to me after I told him I had an interest in praying the Liturgy of the Hours, it had belonged to a former pastor their, who has passed away. Hey, I just learned from Universalis.com that, "It is permissible to add special intentions at Morning Prayer and at Evening Prayer." So everybody include me in your liturgical prayers, please (liturgy being the highest form of worship and all). Oh, and if anyone knows where I could get a cheap copy of the big 4 volume set, please tell me.
It's not too bad once you learn it. I had a little hand book, How to Pray the Liturgy of the Hours that was helpful. Also, I just used Universalis, too. I have the one-volume Christian Prayer. Actually, I am growing quite fond of it now.
Brother Adam
Hehe. I have the one volume too. The 4 volume is an insane $150. I have the daily guide which tells you what pages to go to everyday, but it is still confusing.
Neal4Christ
I've got a good hand on morning prayer. It is the one I do consistently.
