This evening at mass, I sang in the choir, and this girl, a little second grader, kept looking at me.

It contiinually happened, and during the Eucharistic Prayer she looked at me, and I pointed up the altar, and she looks, and prays.

It was so isnpiration and awe inspiring.

Secondly, after mass, these little mexican children, went up to the Blessed BVM statue at the end of church and hugged her, and prayed. i loved it!
This happened to me once, then I realized it was because I was wearing a Spider-Man undershirt

my dad goes to church, but my mom doesn't. she doesn't like the idea of organized religion or see the purpose in going to church. :(
Last Sunday while I was recieving Communion I heard a little girl a ways down from me on the Communion rail say "Jesus!!"
(futuresoror)

I'm with St Colette - too adorable !!!

There's a little friend of mine called Luke who's about 6 years old.

For months he's been saying that he's going to become a Priest when he grows up.
He's going to build a church (out of stone) and in it he's going to put chairs (pews), a table for the candles and a place for "the little Jesuses" (holds up thumb and pointer finger in a little circle).
Once he said "I better build a house because I can't sleep in the church"

He often says "call me Father Luke because I'm going to be a Priest".

(And he has such a strong will that I think he'll probably become a Priest)

He knows that when the Priest says "This is my body" and "this is my blood" the bread and wine become Jesus. One time after "this is my body" he prostrated himself on the floor for a long time - "because I love Jesus".

Every Sunday and I mean every Sunday Luke loves to help carry out the cruets, the water bowl and towel from the credence table. He's disappointed if they're all gone before he can help.

And then we must go over and light candles before our Lady's statue and then sit down and pray to our Lady. First it was just Luke and I but now his younger sister and two older brothers join us.

And Luke's prayer intentions always contain these words :

"I pray that I be more like Mother Mary"

The Rev,
that little girl, those beautiful Mexican children, the little girl mentioned by Futuresoror and "Father Luke" are, like you say, inspirational !!!

Awww, too cute.

Last night we almost got ourselves into trouble at adoration because Fr.'s alb was bunched up in his habit when he went up to repose the blessed sacrament. It looked like one of those old fashioned bustles that the women used to wear. I just burried my face in my hands and couldn't look at the priest behind me becuase he is as mischevious as I am. Afterwards I asked him if he was laughing too and he said with a twinkle in his eye, "nooo, I was just adoring Christ." LOL I love that my Brothers have such a wonderful sense of humor! It's like Fr. said, we participate in Divine Reality in liturgy. It's divine, but it's also reality, we'll laugh, be distracted etc.

Birgitta, I love your last post. Can I print it off ?

This morning when lighting candles and praying after Mass, it was Luke, his sister, and little brother, plus two little boys from another family who have never joined us before. Maybe they joined us because Luke was there.
These two little boys are quite active - one in particular and then of course there was Luke's 3 year old brother.
So there were 5 kids, including 3 very active ones, all wanting to light candles and a taper whose burning bit was a bit long for my comfort :freak: .

Occasionally I wish we had votive candles.

The 3 active ones joined us for prayer and each gave intentions and said a Hail Mary (or mumbled them) but a couple of times I had to call them back to the seat :) .

In 20 or so years, watch out for a powerful Priest called "Father Luke"

:priest: :incense:

Hiya,

Of course you may print off my post. I'm honored. Divine realism is a concept with which I am just becoming familiar, but it is one that I think that some of my fellow Catholics would be well served to learn about!

I'll keep my eyes peeled for Fr. Luke! Birgitta
