Phazzan
Well I tried praying to my Guardian Angel, but I don't feel it, I can't see it, I can't hear it, or smell it, or taste it, or perceive it using any one of my sensories. Do we really have a sixth sense, that can pick up on the supernatural? It's almost as if Guardian Angels don't exist, but are more to comfort us in times of badness. And if Guardian Angels are so protective, why is it Catholics still get murdered, crushed in car crashes, bashed to death, shot, raped blah blah blah? Where's my Guardian Angel? cmotherofpirl
No. You just need to be aware they are there. Emotions have little to do with prayer.
thessalonian
feelings, nothing more than feeling, trying to forget my feelings..... Matthew 18:10 "See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that their angels in heaven continually see the face of My Father who is in heaven. It's pretty scriptural that at least little children have GA's. Sacred tradition says that everyone has GA's. No reason to doudt the Church on this one even if I don't "feel it". God doesn't say anywhere that he is going to give us "feelings". He says trust and tests our trust. I wouldn't say that every time I pray that's it's bango magic everything happens like I want it. I do trust that he gives what I need and I do trust the Church on this one.
JazzforJesus
What i was told about guardian angels was this. Guardian angels arnt these cute fluffy white winged people that watch over you. They are more like a lean mean fighting machine. There is a constant war over your soul by Evil and your guardian angel. Angels are there to fight for our souls in heaven. When the Angel appeared to the shepherd or whenever they appeared to anyone they seemed to say something along the lines of "do not be afraid" That gives me the idea that they are warriors that most people would be frightened to see. but dont worry they are here for us. If were to draw my Guardian angel, it would kinda look like a gladiator. He would have swords and bow and arrows. I like the old fashioned way of fighting, guns made things so cheap, swords are better so i imagine my guardian angel with a sword Everybody has a guardian angel that is with them 24/7 fighting for your soul. just because somebody dies doesnt mean that the guardian angel didnt do its job, they still have to report to God. and we all know that God has this divine plan for all of us, and we dont really know what he wants. You just need to believe in your guardian angel like you believe in God. and walk the road towards God. Dreamweaver
i whole heartedly believe in GAs. We as humans can't comprehend or feel things in the spiritual plane, unless God wills it (apparitions, etc). Thats where faith comes to play. Although you may not "feel" Christ presence in the Eucharist, you KNOW that it is there. Christ himself even said, "This is my body, this is my blood". If Christ was lying about that, then for 2000 years we've been following a foolish religion. I'm willing to take Christ's words over my own feelings anyday. Similiarily, the Bible and church writings indicate angelic guardians for people.

Guest JeffCR07
And now for the single most intellectual post I have ever written: Jesus said they were real.
JazzforJesus
the doubt that GAs arnt real cause you cant use any of your 5 sense to identify them also goes along with with God. we cant use our 5 senses to know God is real, that is why he gave us faith. I believe in God and have faith that he is real and loves us, so i have no problem with believing that Angels (Gods messengers) are among us too. though i cant feel them or see them. God works in mysterious ways, one day you might meet an angel. Dont know.
