Apotheoun
Sorry apoth. The last words of your post reminded me of the poem by Belloc.
Quoting Belloc is fine with me.
popestpiusx
I have nothing against the East. I just think they are theologically inept, but not heretics. Just kidding.

hyperdulia again
I would like to understand Eastern Catholic theology and spirituality better, but it all seems so alien, it took me a month to decide words like theosis and divinization weren't blasphemous. Q the Ninja
I'm trying to convince my friend to go to the East. I just wouldn't go there myself, I love Thomism too much.
Guest Aluigi
aren't you not supposed to just randomly go to the east? i thought there had to be some sort of reason and that it's strongly discouraged... (on both sides, going to the west randomly is also discouraged i think) we're all one big happy family, we're just supposedta stay connected to our immediate family or something. that'd be like leaving your parents to live with your uncle and aunt... if there was a leigitimate reason it's good but otherwise it's just kinda offensive to your parents. i donno... i just heard that somewhere back when I had decided I was going to get married, move my family to the Maronite rite, and become a priest. lol, that was like 25 carreers and crazy schemes ago though. popestpiusx
I must go. I need to get back to work on the paper I'm writing on Americanism. Good night all!
hyperdulia again
1. One cannot switch to become a priest. 2. I don't see a need in Rite switching. One can participate fully in all of Holy Church's Rites.

Guest Aluigi
okay, yeah yeah. well i always knew that little loophole plan wasn't a good idea but i do like the Maronite rite a whole bunch (ARAMAIC CONSECRATION! and they never left communion with Rome! and the only ones with the Rosary!! ) but yeah, like I said. 25 carreers and crazy schemes ago that was going to be my life! Apotheoun
A person should only change to an Eastern rite if their theological and ritual sensibilities are truly Byzantine.
littleflower+JMJ
um yeah i understand where you guys are coming from but to cover our bases, get back on track and there is no confusion.....planned parenthood is evil making a business out of killing unborn babies is evil. lets not get too philosophical that we lose what is simply fact.. their not just a group of doctors, many of them aren't even real doctors (doctors help mend lives, not end them) just killers with an agenda, a knife and a legal yes to kill. sad part is, it doesn't end with them....becaue it didn' start with them.. if you want to get all into sure go ahead, as long as you call a spade a spade (socrates mentioned this) A, you are so going to sign my sneakers and its final. lol
