Krush2k2
I always ask this to those who have turned away from the church and can never seem to get a straight answer. Since you were once part of the Catholic church-how do you now view OUR LADY OF FATIMA(thousands of witnesses) AND the Stigmata of Padre Pio? It seems to me you cant argue against it and find a way to explain why that happened and the Catholic church to not be the one true church-as it is. Explain that to me

mulls
i don't see the logic that these 'miracles' prove the catholic church to be the real church. is that what you're getting at?
spathariossa
Well I was skeptical of Padre Pio. But regardless, when I was converting to Orthodoxy I didn't need to deny Our Lady or any other miracles. Orthodox worship is still so close to Catholicism that the two will one day, God willing, be reconciled.
ironmonk
Well I was skeptical of Padre Pio. But regardless, when I was converting to Orthodoxy I didn't need to deny Our Lady or any other miracles. Orthodox worship is still so close to Catholicism that the two will one day, God willing, be reconciled.
At one time, all Patriarchs, and Bishops of all Orthodox Churches were loyal to the Pope. They all took instructions from the Successor of Peter. Antioch, Corinth, etc... All which are now Orthodox Churches where all at one time Catholic Churches in Communion with the Pope. There have also been times where Orthodox Patriarchs and Bishops taught heresy, and where corrected by their successors (Thess. has some good info on this topic). Given the above information along with Scripture - I don't understand why you would remain Orthodox. Ref: Acts 20:29 I know that after my departure savage wolves will come among you, and they will not spare the flock. 30 And from your own group, men will come forward perverting the truth to draw the disciples away after them. One group bro. John 14:16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate 8 to be with you always, 17 the Spirit of truth, 9 which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. ... 26 The Advocate, the holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name--he will teach you everything and remind you of all that (I) told you. 1 Tim 3:15 But if I should be delayed, you should know how to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of truth. Luke 10:16 "He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me, and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me" How can Orthodoxy be spoken of above when the Patriarchs and Bishops can teach heresy dogmatically and be corrected at a later date by their successors? It's impossible for them be the Pillar and Foundation of Truth. I don't mean to sound insulting... I just don't understand why you would leave the Catholic Church for Orthodoxy. Brother Mulls, Fatima had over 70,000 documented witnesses, and Saint Pio had thousands of witnesses to his Stigmata - and his ability to know why people where there for confession before they told him their sins... he also walked with Christ, Mary, His Gaurdian Angel, and fought with Satan and his minions. Some very good stuff reading up on that. If the Catholic Church was not the Church, then I do not believe these things would not have happened.
