Grudges

Hey everyone,

I need some advice on a situation.

There is a girl at school, whom I liked for a while.

So during that time I shared with her some things, about certain people. When we ended the relationship, she went and told these certain people what I said, and asked them if it was true.

Now, one of the individuals wants to press charges.

Basically, since I found out, I haven't spoken to her, and yesterday when I went shopping at Walmart, she wanted to talk to me, but I didn't allow for it.

Am I justified in not talking to her? Or should I hear her out?

Advice....

Why would you share "certain" things about other people with your girlfriend?

I would forgive her for what she has done. An girl I liked a few years back said some things about me that weren't true, and to this day she hasn't asked for forgiveness, but I have forgiven her anyway, and talk to her on occassion.

I think by press charges he means have a frank and possibly heated discussion with him.

I would be angry with her. But remember, (the reading plan in the Word phorum is paying dividends early and often :P )

"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same? So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.

I think you should give her a chance to say whatever it is she wants to say. Now, I don't know what you said, but it's usually not a good idea to talk about others, and having the information repeated tends to "come with the package." Regardless of the circumstances, however, you don't know what she may have to say. I'd give her a chance.

I wouldn't worry about anyone pressing charges... they probably won't and the "evidence" is pretty much hearsay anyway...

Grudges are fun to keep... I keep mine in a big box under my bed...

It's when you say something untrue about someone or about a business in an effort to hurt their reputation...
