MilesChristi
+JMJ+ I try to pray the Liturgy of the Hours as part of my daily prayer. I was wondering: can I offer up an Office in intercession for somebody, as is often done in the Rosary? Since the Liturgy of the Hours is called "the prayer of the Church" I'm unsure if we can offer it for anything but Mother Church. Thanks for your help! [/quote] There shouldn't be any problem with with offering your celebration of the Divine Office for the special needs of a particular individual, and in fact it is a commendable practice. Both morning and evening prayer in the Roman Rite have a place for intercessions, and that would be a perfect time to state your intention of offering your prayer for a specific person.
