Welcome, Lisa! :) My wife and I are going to be received into the Church this spring, and we are coming from a Baptist background. Actually, I was a seminary student up until last spring. If you ever need anything, just let me know.
Thanks thessalonian,
I am going to need all the resources I can get my hand on... The world I want to explore is overwhelmingly vast and completely alien. I have become so comfortable with everything I thought I knew about God that I disgust myself. I've always been so comfortable in my religion, its going to be good to be a little scared for a while. Hey, I'm right with ya! I'm a cradle-Catholic yet I didn't even know major teachings and stuff of the Catholic Church until a few years ago. Now that I've finally realized the big stuff, I'm trying to learn the more underlying, misunderstood stuff...not an easy task! But hey, that's what the Phatmass Phamily is for! :P

Welcome to the phamily. :)

There are several people here who used to be Baptist, who would be glad to answer any questions you might have.
If you are on any messenger service, many of us are off and on all day, so click our names and profiles and you can add people to your bubby list if you want to visit.

cmotherofpirl@yahoo and msn , motherofpirl@AIM

General stuff can be answered here, very specific stuff on apologetics boards, and if you want to argue - put it on the debate board. We are not very picky about it. :) Mods are bribed with tacos, so very tasty and good for you, and cheesecake. :D

Enjoy!

If you can pick up a copy of Catholicism for Dummies, it is definitely not for dummies, but an excellent overview of the faith.
actually, unless its something u want to debate, ur question is better served in the apologetics board ;)
Amen!

I'm a cradle Catholic and still learning and being completely amazed by new insights about the faith. It never ends as well it should not with God being infinite and all.

Welcome, welcome.

I'm a convert (almost 2 years now!!) and I've been, sometime in my life, almost every religion possible, including, of course, Baptist. (I was Baptist first, too. ^_^ )

If you ever want to talk, don't hesistate to PM me. My email is paw_print_7@yahoo.com and my AIM name is pawprint309

I hope these boards can be of great service to you. The Church is so amazing-- something I'm still learning to see.
