How do you wear your scapular?

karin

So do you wear your scapular underneath your clothes or on top of them?

I dont think the church teaches to wear it one way or the other. but underneath is more preferable for most people.. never seen anyone wear it overneath lol

I wear it underneath. I tried wearing it on top of my clothes, but I kept getting asked, "Do you work here?" Plus I figure if I wear it against my skin, Mary's heart is as close as possible to mine.

No....noone said I couldnt.
But wouldnt wearing one when I am not received in the Church be kind of like carrying keys to a Mercedes I dont even own?
Poor analogy I know, it was all I could think of.

I got "tricked" into getting a scapular.

I was about to start my annual novena to Edith Stein, so I went to confession. While I was waiting in line, an acquaintance walked over, said "hello," grabbed me, and dragged me behind her into the nave of the church (the confessionals were actually in a narthex/extension area). She placed me with two other people who were standing in front of a large group of watching people. I was handed a scapular, and got hitched with it ^_^

I say I was "tricked" because I guess that Edith Stein, who is a Carmelite, must've wanted me to have it before starting the novena.

If you're already enrolled/invested, you could just make one.

I could -- just wait till Sunday, and I'll try to buy you one, Noel :)

And don't worry about paying me back, either. They're only a dollar :P
