ironmonk
Here is an email that I sent to some lawyers claiming to be Catholic.... Their website: http://www.colocatholiclawyers.com/members.htm The article why I emailed them: http://www.lifenews.com/state808.html I'm asking for others here to email them too... God Bless! ironmonk -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Max Sent: Monday, January 03, 2005 12:00 AM To: Ltighe@bayerlaw.com Cc: jpratt@levymorsewheeler.com; jadaviesja@aol.com; dchapman@americanlibertylaw.com; rmessall@kfgj.net; aallott@allott.com Subject: Catholicism Dear Laura, I read an article today and felt compelled to email you. When our brothers and sisters seem to be in error, charity demands correction - by the way, that is a Church teaching. I'm copying a few of your colleagues for a greater chance of something good coming out of this. The article: http://www.lifenews.com/state808.html In today's day and age it is of the utmost importance that we all remain loyal to Christ. To be loyal to Christ is to listen and obey the moral and faith guide of His Church. There are too many false Catholics in this world that use our Church for a social club. It's not a social club. Catholicism is not a buffet that we choose what to believe or what not to believe. You are either Catholic or not. A Catholic believes what the Church has deemed as true in matters of faith and morals... a non-Catholic disagrees or picks and chooses what to believe from the Church. A few quotes of yours seem very disturbing... I would think that a lawyer who claims to be Catholic would have some kind of integrity and some basic common sense on how to reason. "Our group felt we wanted independence," Why would anyone want to be independent from Christ? If you want independence from the Catholic Church to allow the murderers of children to receive your awards, you and your group are not Catholic, you cause scandal, and give real Catholics a bad name. "We are obviously very distinctively Catholic, but there's a great difference on how we exercise our Catholicism," No you are not, if you are Catholic you would want to be associated with the Church. I suggest you also read a little Scripture in your daily routine and pray for guidance. Specifically St. Matt. 18:17 (Jesus said) If he refuses to listen to them, tell the church. If he refuses to listen even to the church, then treat him as you would a Gentile or a tax collector. Your group is obviously ignorant of what it means to be Catholic. It is a shame that a group of "educated" men and women that claim to be "Catholic" are acting and saying what your group is. You have demonstrated that you are neither educated or Catholic. No real Catholic group would ever recognize someone who supports the murder of children for an award. You can fix all of this though by getting educated. The education is free, please for the sake of your soul (provided you believe in God) study.... ironmonk
I actually got two replies.... One basically said that if I'm a lawyer I should voice my thoughts at the board meeting.... that one was from Laura. The other reply was good... it asked that I pray for the Archbishop, and the lawyers... and said that she would uphold the sanctity of life. BTW, Sinner... you can't eat my hat... I like it. ironmonk
By the Grace of God, I believe I one of the lawyers I copied on the email is an awesome lawyer. I've asked her a few questions and she's been kind enough to answer them... I googled her name to see what was online about her and came by this article.... It is very good....
