Guest Aluigi
we would be Irish if it weren't for the beaver dam potato famine. read the Republic's constitution, they recognize their bond with people of Irish ancestry all over the world. So THERE
RandomProddy
Was "they" you? You assumed I take it
Read the Republic's constitution, they recognize their bond with people of Irish ancestry all over the world. So THERE
Many British people have Irish relations and are themselves Irish by descent. Are you suggesting that the Republic bond with Britain? Edited January 23, 2005 by RandomProddy
Laudate_Dominum
guinness isnt irish
I know! I read the back of the can the other day and it said it was brewed and bottled in Toronto Canada!! They'd probably be brewing it in Milwaukee except they wouldn't be able to charge import price for it. Phooey!

Laudate_Dominum
What was this debate about again?... I must admit I've never cared much for politics and I try to avoid political discussions, but I suppose I have an opinion on these matters. I think cars should be banned and that the Fionn should be revived and then Ireland should be governed by Irish monarchs. Something like Return of the King, except the High King wouldn't marry an elf. I think it could work.

Guest Aluigi
It's about unity and sovereignty. Fear that sovereignty might be being given up to the E.U., and hopes that the northern 6 counties would become part of the Republic.

Laudate_Dominum
guinness
ahh yes.. tee-hee. It's too bad Guinness tastes so good, that's about all it has going for it at this point. Although I went to an O'Brien wedding where they had brewed their own stout and it was about twice as strong as Guinness. That was the closest I've been to drunk in years and it was entirely unintentional.. Great stuff!
