That's what death row is for. No Christian religion that I know of is entirely opposed to the death penalty.
I thought most were.

But it brings us back to the question: Should taxpayers be liable for disease that comes from a persons free decision to engage in an activity that carries such a risk? Not to say that there shouldn't be help for someone who is raped, or any such things.

That's a narrow question. I gave another narrow one which was an equivalent. The REAL question, however, is that should taxpayers have to pay money for things that are the results of the stupidity of others?

Wow this topic has digressed...

Yeah things do that when I post...omg l(ÅÖ§

Nope. Most Southerners are Baptists (the "bible" belt and all). What do Southerners like best? A good hangin'. ;)

If you can find a Christian group entirely opposed to the death penalty, I'm interested in knowing who they are.
It's my understanding that Mennonites and Quakers oppose the death penalty...
Mennonites are awesome, however.

Orthodoxy isn't completely opposed to the death penalty but it is frowned upon.

My conversion to Christianity has made me 100% opposed to the death penalty in every case. I don't believe that violence is inherently wrong or evil in all cases. However, I believe that justice on this earth is a human fallacy. I don't believe in justice meted out by those who remain in ignorace of all the facts. Only God can know all the facts so justice is His and His alone.

Oh ok then :) If any of you have time to read a huge debate on homosexuality and catholics on an anti-religeous site click here Fark.Com its supposed to be about 2 gay parents, but goes off topic into more Catholic land and Homosexuality, as far as I can tell its about 50 people verses 1 or 2 (on our side) but they put up a good fight.
WARNING DO NOT GO HERE if you dont want to read insults and anti-catholic hate stuff, most of the stuff they say is garbage but you got to know the enemy.

I have a friend who's done some pretty extensive studies in this realm, and it seems that mentoring programs (e.g. which provide a homosexual man an attentive, understanding, and solid father figure) seem to help a lot.

Do you know any more about this?
Should taxpayers have to pay for prisoners to live, just because convicted criminals aren't going to be killed due to Christian law?
[tangent] Just for the record: Due to the nature of the U.S. appeals system, it is more expensive to execute prisoners than to keep them imprisoned for life. [/tangent]
