CatholicAndFanatical
Ok, I have a question for all my fellow Catholics out heya, and others that want to participate too. What do you think of someone finding another person to date at Mass? I dunno, I cant see it. What brought me to this is I went on a date with this woman last week and she said that she meets most of the guys she dates from Church..and im like..from Church?? I can see it now the Priest - "Behold the Lamb of God..", and here I am instead of concentrating on Jesus im looking over at this woman "Heeeyyy babah!!" *wink wink* eh, I just dont see it. But what do you think about that? How does someone meet someone at Church unless at Mass? K, God Bless
VeraMaria
My parish has lots of catholic single's get-togethers and fellowship things for young adults, university students, high school students... I guess that's a way to meet someone "at church"
Dave
I believe you have to be friends before something more can develop. So I'd say it's fine to keep your eyes open for potential date material at Mass, but first you have to be friends. But you don't have to meet them at Mass. A lot of parishes have young adult groups. Some even have inter-parish adult groups.

CatholicAndFanatical
I know about the Catholic Singles thing..we have one here too. Im not sure I would want to go to one. I dunno..social fobia?? dont get me wrong, I dont have problems finding dates..i have problems finding a date that loves the Church as much as I do, and loves to attend, talk about, teach and listen to things about the Church. All the ones I find are immoral, non catholics that only want two things.. ok, plus im picky k, i suddenly became uncomfortable with this subject, sorry for bringing it up.. geetarplayer
The only problem would be exactly what you said: Instead of concentrating on the Mass, you concentrate on the person you're dating/going to date. -Mark

Norseman82
i have problems finding a date that loves the Church as much as I do, and loves to attend, talk about, teach and listen to things about the Church. All the ones I find are immoral, non catholics that only want two things.. ok, plus im picky That is EXACTLY why people should start socializing with the people at church!! I mean, you are not going to find a Lexus in a Yugo dealership (then again, I've plunked down cash for my Lexus and am still waiting for the delivery, so to speak). I join the chorus: we don't want immoral pagans.....we want good Catholics...and if we have to be virgins on our wedding night, we want our spouses to be as well....is it too much to ask for a decent Catholic spouse???? (although some think it IS too much to ask) Edited October 18, 2003 by Norseman82

immaculata
After Mass is a great place to meet people.. Freshman year, I started going to daily Mass before school, and I'd see the same two brothers come in every day. We started saying "hi" after Mass, and one of them would walk me to my first hour class.. Now we're best friends and they're wonderful Catholics who have deeply influenced my faith! foundsheep
Every person is lonely at one time another. You just happen to see someone at mass and hey youve scored a date. But it aint cool if you go to mass like its some kinda pickup joint. "Hey sister, you come here often?" :D ;)
