Thy Geekdom Come
I met Laura (hugheyforlife) and James (Theoketos) today!!! Laura is awesome and has two little siblings, Joseph and Eve, and they're bunches of fun! James is...different than I imagined. James drove me back to my aunt's house and we got chased by some nutter in a truck in the middle of nowhere.

spathariossa
Shouldn't it be "Guess who I met?" Isn't whom a dative? Raphael you're the latin person!

Thy Geekdom Come
A direct object takes an accusative not a dative. N: Who A: Who G: Whose D: Whom
"Met" takes the direct object, which is accusative. Also, indirect objects take "whom" as well-to "whom" or for "whom"... Colleen
That's so cool, Micah. Oh, and I dunno . . . I think it sounds awkward to say "Guess Whom." I would go with "Guess Who."

Benedict
Trust the ears of "Guess who" is correct. "Guess whom I met" is correct.
Thy Geekdom Come
Trust the ears of "Guess who" is correct. "Guess whom I met" is correct.
Because "who" is part of the clause. "Guess who is phatmasser?" has a "who" because the "who" is the subject of the linking verb "is" while "guess whom I met?" has a "whom" because "whom" is the object of the verb "met."
