Pio Nono
JMJ 12/18 - Third Saturday of Advent Go ahead and chide me for rejecting Roman coffee, but it's just not the same as American coffee. Sure, Roman coffee is better, but I have to walk somewhere to get it and it takes about thirty seconds to drink (being mostly espresso). Now I can nurse my cups of Folgers even in Rome. Pio Nono
JMJ 12/18 - Third Saturday of Advent By the way, for the record, there is a DRAMATIC difference in taste. American coffee is more bitter and brisk, while Roman coffee is smooth yet shocking.

theculturewarrior
Once I heard a priest liken Our Lord and Savior to Mr. Coffee. "You know, he's like Mr. Coffee...he's Mr. Peace." I'll bet Roman homilies are better too. However I think Hawaiian coffee, definitely American, could be just as good if you got the right kind. Pio Nono
JMJ 12/18 - Third Saturday of Advent My spiritual director back in the States once gave me Turkish coffee that even beat Roman coffee. Its effects also made Roman coffee seem like decaf. And the homilies might be better, if I understood them. Allora, tutte le persone parlano l'italiano (everyone here speaks Italian)!
