Dave
At places like Fatima, Lourdes, and LaSalette, the Blessed Mother asked us to pray for the conversion of sinners. Well, I have a couple questions regarding that. Surely she didn't just mean those in the state of mortal sin, right? I mean, we're all sinners. Also, I understand that the #1 thing God takes into account when choosing to give or withhold temporal and spiritual blessings is whether or not they'll be conducive to our conversion and salvation. Thus, if praying for the conversion of sinners is praying for all the living, then if we pray just for that intention, then aren't we praying for all those in need too -- the sick, suffering, dying, poor, homeless, etc.? Dave
So no one wants to offer their thoughts? BTW, Ironmonk and I discussed it while chatting yesterday, so I really appreciate his comments. But I'd like to hear others' comments as well. So start talkin'! Aloysius
i think she wants us to especially pray for conversion of all sinners, meaning everyone that means those in mortal sin be converted to less mortal sin or none, or ppl in venial sin converted to less or none. that doesn't mean not to pray for the homeless or nothin, that's just the special intention of our lady because she wants all people to be brought to her Son. so praying for sinners is basically praying for all people, praying for the conversion of sinners is praying for people to reject their wicked ways, in any degree of wickedness.
