Piccoli Fiori JMJ
This is the first time I have seen this! What a beautiful little girl!
Ash Wednesday
But no matter what, these new parents had a wish. "That if there was something wrong, she wouldn't be alone. We wanted to make sure she felt loved," said Tom, as he began to cry. "She squeezed my hand."
And things like this lead me to believe that despite all, God is there. jimbo
Things like this make me realize what a slacker I am, and who lucky I am. The girl is lucky as well, being born into a loving family.
cmotherofpirl
My cousin was born with total cleft palate: just a hole where lips and the roof of the mouth should be. He went thru many surgeries and still has some difficulties with his sinuses but he has led a full productive life and has three wonderful teenagers and a great wife. Since they know no other life, these children do not know they are different until someone tells them or they are old enough to see it for themselves. They still giggle and laugh and play and love. sweetpea316
I couldn't agree more. She is a beautiful child of God. I just hate to think of how others will treat her because of her differences. *prayers*
Guest Eremite
He grew up like a sapling before him, like a shoot from the parched earth; There was in him no stately bearing to make us look at him, nor appearance that would attract us to him. He was spurned and avoided by men, a man of suffering, accustomed to infirmity, One of those from whom men hide their faces, spurned, and we held him in no esteem. Yet it was our infirmities that he bore, our sufferings that he endured, While we thought of him as stricken, as one smitten by God and afflicted. But he was pierced for our offenses, crushed for our sins, Upon him was the chastisement that makes us whole, by his stripes we were healed. --Isaiah
Jake Huether
It is one thing to be born with a face and lose it. It is a totally different thing to be born without a face. Same thing with sight or smell or tast. Te enjoy life with, and then have to live without is HARD. But when you are born without, even the least step in progress can be a tast of heaven. If you ask me, my heart is saddened about the case. But when I ponder it more, I come to realize just how blest she is. Every inch of progress will be such a joy for her. I won't downplay the struggles she will have dealing with the mean people out there who would dare to make fun of this jem. But they are the ones who have to deal with loss. This little girl can only gain. Makes me think of how bad Adam and Eve must have felt. They had the garden and lost it. They were in Paradise and then lost it. They were sinnless and then sinned. We on the other hand look forward to the day we are sinnless. We have no idea what Paradise is, and so even eating mint chip ice-cream is enjoyable. If Adam and Eve had mint chip, they would be like - "man this is trash, I want more of that perfect mango we had in the garden". Every once in a while God will send a gift like Juliana to teach us these kinds of lessons. To realize how blessed we are to have, and yet to understand how fragile our possessions are. To understand that this world's pleasures aren't the end to our life goal - and in many cases aren't even the means... Heaven is! We should pray for Juliana - but maybe we should send her a letter and ask for her to pray for us.
sweetpea316
Wow... You make some great points there. We should definitely keep this child in our prayers. Though she is bound to have difficulties because of others and their inevitable rude, closed minded, and haughty attitudes, she truly is someone who is blessed. She seems to have an awesome family who, along with God, will love her unconditionally. In my eyes, she is a little angel.
prose
I think she is super cute! I don't see the big deal! She has nice hair too. It's just a face. I would love to have a daughter like that. Those parents are truly blessed. How cute were those hugs??
Cathurian
You have all made some wonderful comments; much more than I could think to say. God bless that little girl. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
