Future Husbands of Phatmass

Not to be left out, here is the thread for us lonely single guys to talk to other lonely single guys and those guys who happened to trick some poor women into marrying them. :P

Advice.
Prayer requests.
Counseling.

Whatever you need.

For the record, I am in my first (and hopefully only) relationship right now but that won't stop me from giving advice.

Presumably it will have worked for me. :P

There are two big obstacles to overcome in my relationship with Sam (my internet name for my girlfriend): one, she is only in America for school and two, she is a poorly catechized (baptized but unconfirmed) Catholic.

For example, yesterday we spent a few hours on the phone debating whether or not pornography should be legal (for a paper she is writing in English). Sam believes that truth is relative, that men sometimes need to indulge their instincts, and that pornography is a private matter. I, obviously, disagree.

Little by little, I am offering apologies for the Catholic faith. Some of it, thank God, is sticking.

Shouldn't the threads be TO our future spouses...oh well this will just as fine.

Hey I hope all will work out.

As for me. I was inspired by The Notebook to write an entry in here everyday to whoever my future wife is.

Today is Sunday. Is there any greater day than Sunday? Not only that, but it's the third week of Advent and you and I know what that means. It means you can wear pink and it's cool and holy! lol. But thinking of pink reminded me of you for some reason. To know that we will be together someday waiting and enticipating. I love it. Advent this year to me is waiting not just for the Christ but also for you. Remember that I love you always and I am praying for you. Until I see you may God continue to protect you and bless you.

That's really hard to do, but God bless you if you pull it off!

I just realized I really don't need to put a date on the entries considering they are stamp and everything. lol. This is sad guys! Sorry I guess i'm just a hopless catholic romantic. I love Jesus soo much and I love Mary very much too, and I hope Mary will help intercede on my behalf to my future wife. I've decided not to try and picture who my wife will look like b/c when I try to then she maybe someone completely different and blow my soxs off! But have any of you try to put a face on your future spouse?

Like you, I chose not to.

I used to fantasize about being married when I was in high school. I never thought about real women but made up all my own. I was married in my mind several times to different women. Each presented to me a different difficulty that I might one day have to deal with; one was a widow (older than me) with a child, another was much younger than me, a third was sterile, etc.

But I always kept one thought away from any visualization. In fact, I tried to keep it completely out of my mind. I called her "my Samantha" and she was the absolute best and most perfect woman for me because she was the woman that God wanted me to marry. I did not know what she would look like, how she would act, or what difficulties we might have but I knew she would love me and I would love her and we would love God and He would love us.

I am hoping the Sam I mentioned in my last post turns out to be my Samantha.
