I think you have a good point Balthazor, but there is also an unhealthy rejection of the married vocation that cannot be ignored, some people act like marriage and having children is some sort of disease or something and thats just sad. Just wait, her sister is young. At fifteen everyone is "me against the world", I knew a lot of girls that sounded just like that..... they got boyfriends and boy did they change their minds. ;) Just give it time.... I wouldn't worry until at least 19. :)

If you ask me she is right where she need to be at fifteen, focused on her work. I know too many of my friends that were much more focused on boys and getting married and going to dances when they were fifteen. It got them into trouble, some got pregnant in high school or immediatly after high school.

I know I sound like a feminist. But, really all I am saying is that I really wouldn't worry until she is older. She'll change her tune, when the right guy comes around. :)

I wasn't saying that Mel's sister has an unhealthy approach to marriage and having kids, since I don't know the girl I can't make that judgement. I think it is better to be focused on finishing school, etc., when you're 15 but to have what seems to be a very sour outlook on marriage doesn't seem very promising. I guess I just think that there should be an appreciation for marriage and having a family even if you're not interested in it (no matter how old you are), like I said, though, I was just saying what I thought in general, nothing actually directed at anyone in particular. :)

It's cool Princess, I wasn't mad or offended or anything just expanding upon a thought :)

(notice all the smileys)

As the song goes:

With fondest memories in my heart,
I'd like to say without a doubt,
I'm glad my daddy picked you out,
to , be no other than my mother.

I didn't think you were offended, I just wanted to make sure no one thought I was talking about anyone in particular. :)

oy, there is too much I wish to say.
I'm only 15, but I believe my future spouse is somewhere around me. It might sound nuts, but after quite a bit of prayer, I've deducted that I'll meet him soon. Now, whether we both recognize it or not is a different story....

*sigh* I love love.

has anyone read Three to Get Married?

to my love: today i realized the miracles that surround me every day that i seldom recognize and almost wished you could be here to experience that with me. i thought of you a lot today. i wonder when i will meet you or if i already have. anyway the mass was awesome today. i thanked God for everything I have, including the hope of one day meeting you. anyway, hoping things are well with you, wherever you are. God bless you now and always love. yours truly, laura thomas

Haha, I'm not scared of getting married, it's just rather weird to hear about this. The topic of the thread is just different, ya know. I'd love to get married...but what kind of marriage? Married to a human being or married to Christ? I have my doubts. Must pray, not sure if I have a vocation. Then again, whatever is God's Will. Sometimes when I hear my friends say they want tons of kids, I'm like..whoa...how many do I want?? Not how much I want, but as many as God gives me (that was a spur of the moment light).
