How do you prepare?

I am going to bump this thread.....

But if anyone wonders why there are 8 pages of posts on the Jeans in Church thread and only a few here so far let me say this to you. It is not because we are shallow, or judgemental or beause we care about only the trivial material things in life.

It is far easier to talk about the trivial things in life that do not really matter, the weather, your car, the clothes you wear and movies you like, than it is to open your heart to a lot of other people and risk getting hurt.
Our relationships with God are very special to us and many of us are not going to post here because they are so private and so precious that we feel they need to be protected. I feel the need to keep mine private and protected too. Myinnermost heart is a sanctuary, a temple for the Spirit, and I do not let any one in randomly except those who I know I can trust, lest they profane my temple.

God Bless,
Balthazor

But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.

It's more of just thinking on my way there. I know I should do more but it's hard to find time which sounds terrible because I should always have time for Jesus but that's the truth. I'll have to work on more reflection before mass so I get more out of it. The worst is when I have to work sunday so it's even harder to find time to think AND go to mass, if only we had a 5 oclock mass every sunday (youth mass this week).

So true

when it all comes together - I've read the readings the night before - I've got everything and everyone packed and ready to go before we're already late - I read some introductory prayers from an old missal to myself once I get there to focus my frame of mind

sad to say, it all comes together infrequently . . . and on those days, I feel like the tax collector - the one whose prayer was "Have mercy on me, a sinner." The only thing that went right some of those mornings is we made it to Mass
