Noel's angel
Festive traditions in Britain anre facing gradual extintion because of those who believ that Christmas is offensive to non-Christians. Around Britain, Christmas is being wiped out: Nativity scenes and the words Merry Christmas are being erased from Christmas cards. Staff can no longer enjoy Christmas parties and Carol services are not allowed to be advertised. Even the Prime Minister Tony Blair has published a 'politically correct' Christmas card, omitting the word Christmas. Other Religions are allowed to celebrate their feasts such as the Hindu and Sikh Diawali and the Jewish Hanukkah, so what is wrong with Christians celebrating Christmas????? Utter madness

Mateo el Feo
"Happy unspecified holiday." Doesn't it drive you nuts? I'm just going to risk wishing someone a merry Christmas, even if I don't know what their religion is. What about "Happy New Year"? It isn't a new year for Jews, Muslims, and Chinese. Oh, yeah, I forgot: the extremists at the UN want to change the calendar, too. LOL!
Noel's angel
lol. its not even the Muslims or Jews that are protesting, thats what annoys me. im sure they love the season, with all the lights. i know my uncle who is Jewish loves Christmas. its people who have nothing better to do with their time other than tyring to cause divisions in communities
Balthazor
I am in an offensive mood today so I will take my beef out here too. I refuse to sacrifice my traditions and my religion for someone else. One the most precious things I have is my indentity. To deny me celebrating holidays in a traditional way is nothing less than identity theft.
EcceNovaFacioOmni
I want to approach whoever designated the Time Square tree the "Peace and Unity Tree", and photograph their expression when I tell them that I don't believe in the "separation of church and state." DancesforLove
I completely respect all religions and beliefs, it is up to each person to choose their beliefs. But I don't even come close to agreeing with that, why don't we go and ban all selling of Christmas items. After that we can go and get rid of all selling of Bibles, Torahs, Quarans,! At this rate, by next election no one will be able to say the nominees names because it might offend someone. I'm sorry but I have to say this QUIT babying people! no one will go through life without being offending, should you make a point to offend someone NO, but good Lord people need to stop trying to work around everyones moods and frequently changing opinions. We will never be able to please everyone someone will always be offended so stop making pitiful laws to "please" everyone, it won't happen someone will always be "offended"
shelly_freak
I was watching PBS the other day and it was a movie about a little girl. She was Jewish and therefore didn't have a Christmas tree. Her grandfather invited her to his company's Christmas party and she met Santa and decorated the tree and danced and had tons of fun. At the end she asked her grandfather why they could celebrate Christmas at this party but she couldn't have a Christmas tree like all her chrisitan friends. Her grandfather told her that Christmas was a very important holiday for many of their friends and they were all happy. Well he said why not celebrate their happiness and joy with them. Then he posed the question you invite your friend to Hanuka and she and her family celebrate with you but you don't see them with a Manora so why can't we do the same? The little girl said well I guess you're right grandpa, we can celebrate our friend's holiday and be happy without becoming their religion. I probably didn't do the story any justice but it made me think...wow all the leaders of the world should watch this. This little girl has more wisdom than most leaders these days. DancesforLove
LoL yeah thats the serious truth shelly! My sister Danielle is Muslim, my other sister Natalie is Atheist we all celebrate every holiday, we support Danielle during Ramadan, me during Lint, no one is offended (no one agrees with the others religions either) but we live with it and make the best of it all because nothing we do will change the other one. Quietfire
Why is anyone surprised by all this? In California something 'passed' banning the use of the words "Christmas" tree. Instead it was to be called a "Holiday tree", which of course would lead my smart aleck NY attitude to ask, "Oh yeah, what holiday yous celebratin'?" Arnold found out about this nonsense and said Ahhhh, dont think so. Its a Christmas tree. You know, its only a matter of time before those blasted pagans figure out a way to remove Christ from Christmas & Easter. Same goes for St. Valentine getting dumped from St. Valentines Day. After all, secularism has figured out a way of reproducing without procreation. No fun. Big party poopers. +joyfulnoise+
goodness gracious!!! I'm listening to some super fun "Holiday Music" right now *rolls eyes* geez what will they think of next? You know what happens when you take Christmas out of the holiday? Same thing you get when you take Christ out of Christmas........mas. Now what fun is that I ask you? It just makes a mess (mas) sry. bad joke. I agree with all of you. And another question....was Jesus politically correct? I think not. When we go against the world, suffer and die for Him we get to spend eternal happiness with Him! Him , the one who is the reason for the season! Just wanna slap 'em huh? Dreamweaver
Instead of focusing on the offensiveness of the religious aspect of Christmas, why don't government officals and other people who call the shots focus on the offensiveness of all the commercialization of a religious holiday? People have the idea that replacing the nativity with Santa and snowmen will make everything ok. <sarcasm> Lets just take it the next step further and ban any public expression of religion. Oh oh oh, churches no longer can have crosses or steeples, stained glass or outdoor statues. Someone might be driving on the road and be offended by the site of a church! All churches will need to look like warehouses, lest someone be offended. </sarcasm>
