geetarplayer
Why do some people think that Allah and Yahweh are two different beings? I've heard many people refer to the "Judeo-Christian God," as if Muslims worship a completely different God altogether. What's the deal? We all worship the same God as our common ancestor, Abraham. Or don't we? -Mark
Aloysius
some ppl say that since Allah is less of a personal God they worship the same God Muhammed claimed it was the same God, b4 'meeting Gabriel' he had studied Judaism and Christianity, and thus when he either had his vision or just decided to start a religion to follow that God better, he said it was the same God. i'd say it's the same God, they just don't know Him as a personal being the way He wants to be known. Chrysologus
Jews, Christians, and Muslims all worship the one true God of Abraham. Only Christians understand that he is Trinity. It says as much in the Catholic Catechism.
cmotherofpirl
Some fundamentalists say allah is the moon god, or that because the Muslims don't believe in Jesus as the Son of God, that God they worship is not the Christian God. They forget that the Jews don't believe in Jesus but do worship the same God as Christians. Just another example of literalism run amuk. There is only ONE God. Don John of Austria
plenty of people worship false gods, demons and other preternatural creatures. The Muslims believe they worship the same God as we do, wether they do or not is debateable. Assuming they do they have butchered Him, They only worship part of Him. LTNgurl
my boyfriend was muslim, now he is atheist (i know that is sad), and he was surprised when i said God is my friend and he protects me...and etc. etc. He says taht most muslims view Allah with fear, they are scared of Allah, for he will burn you in hell if you are not perfect. one of the reasons he left islam was b/c he thought living in fear was ridiculous, he likes christianity better, b/c our God loves us, and knows we are not perfect. Don John of Austria
Well "fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom", but one should also know that God loves you and wants to protect you, it seems a very depressing religion doesn't it. They cannot butcher God... they have many misunderstandings. They see the OT and NT as inspired works of God. They worship the God of Abraham, Moses, etc... They see Jesus as a prophet, just like the Jews... GB, ironmonk
M.SIGGA
How can one say they worship the true God if they reject and blaspheme the Holy Name of Jesus? Doesn't the Bible say ''No one comes to the Father except through me?'' If they reject the free gift of grace through the Holy Spirit how can they pray to the same God we do? The only way to the Father is through the Son!!! God Bless :D

M.SIGGA
This is a protestant concept, not Catholic. THe jews do not believe Jews is God either remember, and we refer to them as our elder brothers in the Faith. Beleiving in Jesus is not a prerequisite to believing and worshipping God. How is this a Protestant concept? Yes the Jews are our elders in the Faith, but Jesus is the Messiah and the fulfillment of Judiasm, whether they believe it or not. They too are called to be baptised just like everyone else. My point was that Islam is not Judaism and their theology is very different from Judeo-Christian theology. The Old Testement proclaims the fullfilment of a Messiah as God's promise to Abraham, Jacob, etc... The New Testement proclaims the Good News that Jesus is the Messiah and the birth of the Church directed by the Holy Spirit. Islam, which literally means ''The Right Path," proclaims the Koran as God's final revelation with other faiths (including Christianity and Judiasm) as being under the influence of The Infidel - that's why they call Christians and Jews infidels. Plus the Koran has nothing to do with Messianic prophecy and Messianic fulfillment that is Jesus Christ. Jesus is not a pre-requisite for believing and worshiping God only if that person is ignorant of Jesus or the message of the Gospel - not folks who knowingly reject and blaspheme Christ and the Holy Spirit. God Bless :D
M.SIGGA
I didn't mean to imply that all Muslims and other folks knowingly reject Christ and the Gospel. Please pardon me b/c I didn't mean to sound so prejudice !!! My point is that their concept of Allah does not equal God (Father, Son, HS). You're thinking of a different passage, Anna. Jesus also said at one time, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."
