My grandparents do that. I don't see anything wrong with it, as long as you're not being scrupulous about it. :) I think it's a cool idea, if you have the time.

If the 5:00 Saturday isn't the anticipatory (Sunday) Mass, then you have to go on Sunday. :)

You most certainly can go to Mass as many times as you like in one day, not neglecting your other duties. Church law was updated not long ago to allow for reception of communion twice in a day. The Mass of course is the greatest prayer, where we, in communion with the saints in heaven, offer the body, blood, soul, and divinity of the son up to the father so it is recommended that you go as often as you can. Read Scott Hahn's book, "The Lamb's Supper" to get a deeper perspective on the Mass.

God bless

you can go twice but be careful. The laity can only receive communion twice within the context of the same liturgy. So if you go to more than two masses of the same liturgy then do NOT receive communion more than twice.

I have been told that there can be exceptions to this rule, such as being an altar server. I'm not positive on that however. Of course, the occurances where such a situation would arise are fairly rare.
