bandmn54
Hey guys. I just wanted to say hi and let you know about a great new band. I'm Seth from Scarecrow and Tinmen. Bad news...Scarecrow has pretty much disbanded. Good news...most of the boys from Scarecrow, including me, have started a new band called Cheer Up Charlie. Cheer Up Charlie is very similiar to S&T, but with a little more edge. We're really excited about what God is doing. We've already been signed to the record label, Masada Entertainment. Go check out our temporary website at www.cheerupcharlie.com. Write back and tell me what you think of the music. Seth

onwardchristiansoldier
congrats on gettings signed, i did the sample music on the sight, seems a little less hardcore rock and a little more about the lyrics-no offense to S&T intended- i like the sound and the message... I too play in a Catholic band, nothin serious though, we don't really play original music right now, though several members have written some, we mostly do ministry at Benedictine College where we are all students, and we also travel around to parishes in the Kansas City diocese, trying to help get music ministry rockin in the area.... its an awesome mission and i love it. best of luck to you guys as you spread the word. you'll be in my prayers Brian J. bandmn54
Hey guys, thanks for the love that you are sending out. We are really stoked about what God is doing. Cheer Up Charlie is by no means hardcore. However, we are more hardrock than Scarecrow. There are three songs that are playing on the website. One of them is the ballad that is on the record. The rest of the record is very rockish. To answer your question sevensorrows, yes...we are a Catholic band. As many of you know Scarecrow and Tinmen was a Catholic band. Six years ago the singer and guitar player of S&T converted to Catholicism. Brad, S&T's guitar player, is very passionate about his faith. He started CUC and is going to be singing for them. CUC is stepping up where S&T left off. 95 percent of the venues we play are Catholic events with Catholic themes, and we are here to minister to Catholic youths. We will be playing some shows that aren't Catholic, but the heart of the band lies in the Church. Some of the band members are protestant, but they are fully aware and excited about CUC being Catholic, and they fully support unity among all Christians. The site was done by our label's graphic design guy. He is absolutely amazing. The artwork is done by a guy that actually works for Disney World, but wants to be involved with the label. If you are interested in our web guy, I'm sure he is still doing stuff on the side. You can contact me if you'd like some info on him. If you were confused by the comment that "I" made, you aren't the only one. They actually misquoted me, but what they intended was me leaving my wife and daughter for periods of time while we are touring. Again thanks for all the love. BTW, have any of you seen Scarecrow and Tinmen live?

DemonSlayer
The non-Catholics in your band are excited about the band in general being Catholic? That's interesting.
bandmn54
The non-Catholics in your band are excited about the band in general being Catholic? That's interesting.
The protestant members of CUC see Catholics and protestant as Christians. There are quite a few musicians in the Catholic market, but in all honesty it lacks the quality that it deserves to have. Don't get me wrong. There are great Catholic musicians, but there needs to be more. We want to reach Catholic kids. We want to meet them where they are and rock their socks off. We want the world to know that Catholics can rock just as much as the next person. We're excited about Cheer Up Charlie, and we're excited that God is using all of us, the entire band, to unify Catholics and protestants, proclaim the name of Christ, and change lives. So...calling all Christians!...get ready for Cheer Up Charlie, cause here we come!!!

bandmn54
Don't feel bad if we don't know you now, I mean...we did meet about 10,000 people (not exagerrating), but I bet that I'd know your face if I saw you. The good news, is that Cheer Up Charlie is many of the same people. The shows will be A LOT of fun.
