homeschoolmom
Making fun of people, especially people who are ignorant through no fault of their own, is wrong.

CreepyCrawler
yeah. if it's not cool for protestants to make fun of us, then it's not cool for us to make fun of them. not only is it destructive to the body of Christ in the world, it sets a bad example for non-Christians to see us acting in an uncharitable way, AND we're all called to be like Christ and I don't think Jesus would make fun of any Christians in a mean way. if there is teaching or gentle guidance to be given, then i don't think that cutting others down is the way to do it.
This is known as the heresy of Indifferentism. The Catholic Church is the One, True Church. The protestant religions are false and heretical. We can "make fun of" protestant religions all we want. To say that they are somehow on the same level is heresy. Also, the second comment about the "Body of Christ" is not really true because "The Body of Christ is one and the same as the Roman Catholic Church". CreepyCrawler
i don't mean to say that protestants and catholics are the same, but to mock other people is unchristian. perhaps you disagree with their beliefs, but i think the church advocates a certain respect for all human beings, including our separated brethren! i think that mocking other people is a sin and if you think it's okay, then that's your problem and you only have God to answer to. amarkich
I suppose there is a line between "mocking" and "making fun of" and between "making fun of" and "correcting". Also, there is a line between criticizing the religion and the followers. We love the sin and hate the sinner, but making observations concerning the hypocrisy and contradictions by the protestants themselves (not just the religion) is not wrong. I think we have different ideas of what "talking bad about protestants" means. Also, I would not make fun of their jumping and yelling because it is blasphemy, and there is nothing funny about that (just like I would not laugh about hand Communion, because it is sacrilege; it is not a laughing matter).
Protestants who are invincibly ignorant, though obviously not sharing in the perfection of Catholic Worship, are not blaspheming God when they praise the Lord in their own (albeit flawed and imperfect) way. Blasphemy is deliberately showing contempt or disrespect for God. This is not the intent of pentecostal worship. They are intending to worship and praise the Lord. While one should wish them to come into the fullness of true Catholic Worship, to condemn them in this way is false and scandalous. My parents were both converts to the Faith from fundamentalist protestantism, and though they left protestantism for the Truth of the Catholic Faith, they do not consider their earnest prayer before becoming Catholic to be "blasphemy." Blasphemy is a very serious charge, and should not be applied to those who intend to worship the Lord. Before you start throwing around any more remarks, or start dismissing me as a "modernist" or such, I suggest you reflect long and hard on Our Lord's words to the Pharisees. amarkich
My apologies. We hate the sin and love the sinner...not the other way around. That wasn't a test, just a typo.

SirMyztiq
You know. Christianity would seem alot more plausible if you would just stop whining and trying to cut each others throats. You BOTH believe in God. You have differences. Solve them. Until then the Church will never be a true source to worship God. To many variations. Too many problems. Too much trouble. Why not just, as most of you claim, listen to all sides before drawing conclusions. Until then Christianity would be complete and would actually make people more interested in following it's teaching.
RandomProddy
People like ian paisley... jack chick... etc... then I think it's ok to make light of it seeing how if we think of the gravity of their actions and words, it would be very depressing.
