Galloglasses
I haven't voted yet, altough I DO lean towards creationism, Genisis is the truth but what it means, well, for that we need Jesus. (Think about it, if all things were made through Him, He'd answer this simply or tell us its too complicated for us to understand yet.) Has anyone actually prayed about this? Me neither, I haven't actually went around that yet. But there's too many inconsistencies in the evolution theory that just doesn't convince me, (if there was an evolution there WAS a Big Bang, without a Big Bang, its unlikely there was an Evolution) This is were Darwinian Evolution falls flat in my veiw, because if Crocodiles have been around since the dinosaurs, why didn't they develope intellect instead of us, who were descended from Primates. That and the recent discovery of a 7 foot tall 'Devil Frog' who was capable of eating Baby Dinosuars just...bleh.... But Genesis does contain some truth, look at the stories of the Behemoth and the Leviathon, God did not want a race of such monstrous 'Dragons' to destroy all His other creations, so He killed the mate of the Leviathon, the Leviathon wept over its loss and God made it immortal. This seems allegorical to me. The Dinosaurs bare striking resemblence to the 'Dragons' of myth and legend, they were killed off, yet their bones are still existing and in roughly good shape, and their memories are immortalised in the human Conciousness. I'm no theologian so feel free to shoot me down here.
Galloglasses
Also, with regards to creation the Church gives you alot of Freedom, you can believe anything you want regarding the Big Bang and evolution as long as you stay by these three Dogmas. 1)God created everything out of Nothing (Ex nihlo) 2)God Created an orderly Universe 3)Everything relies on god for sustance

There could be evolution without a Big Bang. Crocodiles didn't develop intellect because of the limitations of their more primitive reptile cerebrum. Deb
I believe that God created heaven and earth which makes me believe he created the universe so he probably did the big bang to make a place to create us. I don't even really care about how. I just believe he did.
dairygirl4u2c
here's some stuff about how we evolved from one person or abouts, in africa. the only thing fatal to some creationists, is that it shows it's over thousands and thsandas, way past 6000. I think Catholic Theology assumes a bit more input on God's end. That's not to say that a Catholic cannot recognize the veracity of some of the findings in the evolutionary sciences and fit it into their view of the creation of the world. On a different note, I like to think of the Big Bang as that moment when space and time exploded into being out of the Creative energies of the Trinity. That just seems really cool to me! CrossCuT
I definitely believe in evolution. Evolution is a key to understand how life works on this planet! You would be a fool to completely dismiss it as garbage! We see evolution everyday!!! It was an AMAZING thing! But I do also believe we were made in the image of God and not some accident that evolved from monkeys.

goldenchild17
I believe #1, but I'm no scientist so what do I know? I don't have all the answers in this area right now, and don't expect to any time soon. But this is what I am most comfortable believing, so I do.
