Quietfire
How do you treat your mother? This is a personal question that each of us should think about seriously? Do you show her respect? Do you tell her that you love her? Do you heed any of her warnings? (to behave, to stay away from things or people or places that can harm you.) Do you listen to her and understand when she asks that you show respect? Do you carry a picture of her, even if its a mental picture? Is she important to you in any capacity? Is she the woman who accepted the gift bestowed upon her when she found out she was with child by saying "Yes"... Or was she simply the woman who carried you in her womb and delivered you into the world because she happened to "get pregnant" because she had sex with a man, even if that man is your father? Is she the woman who helped rear you, keeping you from danger when possible and provided for you because she accepted gladly the responsibilities of the gift bestowed upon her when she said "Yes"... or was she the woman who raised you, fed you, help clothe you, praised you and gave you stuff because it was her "job"? Is she the woman who helped heal you when you hurt, helped retrieve you when you stumbled and fell, comforted you when you were in fear, corrected you when you disobeyed or disrespected because she honored the gift given to her and said "Yes".... or is she the woman who took you to the doctor when you were sick, pick you up when you fell, hugged you when you were scared, punished you when you misbehaved or failed to show respect for others or her....or yourself, because she "could" or "had to"? It isnt the words, its the meaning of the words. Are you spending Thanksgiving with Mom? Take a good look at her. Really. Isnt she the woman who said "Yes"?
