Concert Attendance

As a music major, part of the requirement to graduate is to attend 8 concerts each semester for six semesters. So I was at my VERY LAST concert...woohoo...and there were these two girls in front of me that were sooooo rude. mind you, these are classical music concerts- tonight was an evening with Brahms with a piano, clarinet, double bass, and violin. These girls were slouched down in their seats, had their feet on the seat in front of them, played games on their cell phones, talked, you name it, they did it. I wish people would have more respect for the performers on stage. There were at least 4 cell phone rings throughout the audience also. My experience was ruined by rude people.

That is not cool! Rude people are not cool! could you at least enjoy some of the concert?

Well, you could have asked them to have some respect... but I wouldn't have... I'm too chicken...

they were probably there getting extra credit for some class (Humanities maybe?) and could not have cared less about the concert...

at first i was really pissed because i saw they had a recital attendance card in their hand and i was like they better not be music major acting like that, then i realized it was the recital card for the music appreciation class....that explains it

too bad you couldn't call them on your cell phone and said, "hello, I'm sitting a couple rows behind you. Would you mind shutting up?"

Was there an usher? They're supposed to take care of these things...

people don't understand the creativity gene.

Creativity is like dropping a rose petal into the grand canyon, and then waiting for the echo.

And when you're waiting like this... the echo you get...shouldn't be a cell phone!

I can't stand it when I'm singing a song to my friends and they start talking. I wish I was a painter, instead. :D

Thy Geekdom Come

There was a girl in the second row of my art class last week whose phone went off. She answered it and said, "oh, HI!" in this sweet, teenagery voice. The teacher shouted, "excuse me, but you can take that outside! And take your bag with you, you won't be needing it!" Well, she got up and walked right up to his face, covered the receiver, and said, "it's my mother/boyfriend/friend!" (I'm not sure what relation it was) with a sneer on her face. He said, "I don't care who it is!"

Anyway, she didn't take her bags with her and promptly returned to class once the call was over...so rude...and in front of about 300 students, too.

Shelly_freak's mom is a painter and believe me, people don't appreciate her one bit. She tries so hard but she just can't seem to get far -_- . She is quite good too!

word to the music majors. everyone should take a class on concert etiquette. performers and audience members. we on the other hand have to go to 10 concerts a semester.
