Fiat_Voluntas_Tua
I told my Conversion story to a good friend yesterday, and it took 1 1/2 hours but I only got like 3/4 of the way through it. Totus Tuus, Andrew
Sojourner
It depends on how much detail I go into. I can do the abbreviated version in about 2 min. The longer, more involved version takes a lot longer. I choose which one to tell depending on who's asking and how much they need to know. Most people don't care for the full meal deal, they want the quick and dirty version.

PedroX
Mine takes an hour. I don't care if people want the short version or not! Just kidding, I agree with Sojourner (surprise!!) that you need to know your audience. peace...

Dave
My conversion story doesn't even take 30 minutes! Heck, probably not even 5 minutes! My conversion process wasn't nearly as dramatic as a lot of people here, probably because I knew from an early age that Catholicism was where I should be. But now I feel like it should've been longer and more involved -- like something was lacking in my conversion process.

Mickey's_Girl
Sojourner and PedroX agreeing? Surely the end of the world has arrived. My conversion story takes a while (15-30 minutes), but I can do it quickly, too. The quick version ("Once I believed in the Real Presence, it was all downhill from there!") works better for Catholics, since they know what I'm talking about. The long version works better for Protestants, I think, although at the "Real Presence" part their eyes either widen or glass over. So far, I haven't had anyone argue with me about it, but I expect it will happen sooner or later. MG

Most Protestants think you can't really be serious.
Mickey's_Girl
I've totally experienced the widening/glassing over when talking about the Real Presence. Most Protestants think you can't really be serious.
For real! I try to remember what it was like BEFORE. Except there was a long period before I *believed*, where I sort of thought it was *possible*, except I wasn't really sure about it all, and just sort of put the thought aside. This was probably several years. So it's hard to relate. And what I'm finding (this is confirmed by both non-Catholic friends and my Catholic grandmother) is that I was actually raised VERY Catholic. Like, as Catholic as you can be and still be an active non-high-church Protestant. So a lot of the cultural shockers (big families, NFP) are not as much of a stretch as they might be for other people. MG
daugher-of-Mary
It depends... The short version takes all of 30 seconds "Blessed Mother led me to her Son and His Church" The longer version takes half an hour or so
