iheartjp2
What is your view? Obviously, my view is that the Catholic Church is the church that Christ founded and profused his grace on to be the ordinary means of the salvation of the world, hence the name, Catholic (universal, fromt the Greek word katholos ), which it was first recorded to be called such by St. Ignatius of Antioch. Guest Aluigi
lol someone made a poll like this before 2.. i guess the idea behind it is to start a discussion about whether Jesus founded the Catholic Church but the poll form doesn't work when you're at a Catholic site and the majority of ppl will agree with you... Catalyst
I disagree...i see the roman catholic church to be much like the pharisee's in Jesus time. Also some what diluded with praying to dead people in Mary as well as the saints. No point praying for a person once there gone as their test is over. Mary would have died in sin if weren't for Jesus as people where confused to the old covenant, even the priests which is evident in how they dealt with Christ but that was prophesy...so is Christ warning people about those liers who come in His name. Mary was blessed no doubt, but the trinity does not include her... The Roman Catholic church didn't even want the bible to be public some hundreds of years ago, this church is Constantine's idea of Christianity and puts too much emphasis on images..idols.."hail mary full of grace"..whats grace to u? amarkich
I love when people come on to make antagonizing remarks but fail to put together complete sentences (or even coherent thoughts). Edit: by the way, of course it is the first one Edited November 18, 2004 by amarkich
Gal. 5:22,23
My answer is yes. This is something I have come to believe after lots of reading (the early Church Fathers, etc.) and much prayer. It also comes from a literal reading of Scripture. It's not just "You are Peter and on this rock I will build my church." It's also when Jesus restores Peter after His resurrection, asking him three times "Do you love Me?" He's not just asking that question, He is giving Peter the responsibility to feed His lambs, take care of His sheep, and feed His sheep. Our Lord is clearly giving Peter a leadership position that He did not give to the other apostles.
dead people...no we don't pray to dead people... My body is a temporary dwelling for the soul God gave me at my conception. When my body dies, my soul still lives, and will ultimately end up in heaven or hell. So when I ask intecession of the Saints [ those souls who already made it] I am not talking to dead people, but those souls who already see Him face to face. If the Catholic Church hadn't decided what books went in the Bible, you wouldn't have one today. THe only guarantee you have tothe reliability of Scripture is the Church, because the Church came first. And logically that authority would have to be passed down, for the Church to last more than one generation.
EcceNovaFacioOmni
"hail mary full of grace"..whats grace to u?
From the Douay-Rheims (pre-dates the KJV): "And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women." (Luke 1:28) "And she cried out with a loud voice, and said: Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb."
